the emulators should not need over clocking to run. Better coding is need for optimization
Isn't this bad for the switch in handheld mode? (Battery or heat wise)

All it changes is that the Switch will use more battery power, As far as I know the Dock does not have a fan in it.
Do I understand that you take that $1800 bounty for the necessary dynarec ? Or is that not "better coding" ?

Yes - FYI, Beware's battery is now swollen (and pushes the backplate) because of extensive use of OC in Lakka.
Yes, depending on how much you OC - 1.5GHz should be safe, 1.9GHz should not
Hmmm I dont think I want to OC my Switch just to play these. Seems too risky

That's a yikes from me, captain.
Overclocking results vary from silicon to silicon. Some switch's I'm sure will be able to handle a modest overclock without generating any more heat than a less-well-binned switch.
That being said, it might be worth waiting until a few more of us have tried it to get a good idea of where the "safe"-ish clockspeed & package temps are.

Nintendo has always been cutting every corner possible with their hardware. Do you really think someone there said "Hey, let's have this cool airflow or extra fan just in case someone wants to run homebrew at 1.5 Ghz?" Probably not. Nintendo is always doing the bare minimum to have their own crap run, PERIOD.
You better have an amazing extra fan and whatnot ready to handle it, or get ready to see an army of swollen switches hitting second hand shelves or ebay soon. Are you sure you want to play with fire only to get a few extra FPS?

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better. -

I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way
