You should give more information.

What region is your system?
How did you get those VC titles into it?
Were downloaded normally, were installed through wad files and a manager?
Which region those VC titles are?
How are you trying to run them, through the Wii's menu, or through a loader?

If you installed wad of games from another region on your Wii, most of the time won't work running directly from your Wii's menu. You would need something like USB Loader, select said title and go to its settings to force it run at the video format they were intended to.

check the av/component/adapter you are using and if you are not using the standard av cable but component or an hdmi adapter. then try toggling the 480p/480i mode and see if it works on a different mode.

My system is 4.3U, the VC titles were installed by WAD using a manager.
All the VC titles are U.
I'm running them through the SD card menu.

I've never tried to run a wad-installed game from the SD card menu, so I sadly can't give you advice, but I've read that for them to work the tickets (hidden files that get installed into your system when you download a digital game), need to be on the console for them to work.

Could it be related to that?

I'll try moving the game to the system menu as soon as I can get on my Wii.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Also, my Wii can play regular WiiWare games from the SD Card Menu.

You probably need to patch IOS80 for this, I am not sure how to do that exactly, but I am sure there are tutorials out there.

I always had the same issues where the console would be still on, but the Wiimote would disconnect. Here are some fixes:
-Find a different version of the *.WAD.
-Update the IOS that is required for the game to startup. You can check this with CustomizeMii.
-Change the video settings with WiiMod Lite. Make sure your TV is compatible with the different settings and that the other homebrew applications won’t bug out.
