Hi I recently purchased this r4 https://www.nds-card.com/ProShow.asp?ProID=575 so I have some questions.
1. Does it automatically AP patch
2. Does it have a time bomb if it does can I and how do I fix it
3. I heard nintendo can patch out these cards is that true that they need to be a certain firmware
4. Since I need to get a new SD card can I transfer my freeshop games into the new one that's 64gb
5. Is this the correct r4 version you guys recommend
6. how do I set it up a beginners guide basically

AP patches not required.

No time bomb from those made by r4ids.cn. If you get a time bomb cart, use YSMenu.

Whitelist block applies for really old R4 cards. This can be bypassed with NTR Launcher or R4 Stage 2 Launcher. Newer model carts aren't blocked; Nintendo quit trying.

4. Since I need to get a new SD card can I transfer my freeshop games into the new one that's 64gb
Format it FAT32 + 32 KB cluster size using guiformat. Also check if your card is real with H2testw; you don't want to lose data if your's fake.

5. Is this the correct r4 version you guys recommend

I know lol. I asked because these cards are confusing in a way, for some reason I heard these ones don't, I wanted it to be clear. Probably because all these r4 cards aren't official I heard. So it's confusing with many other manufactors using the brand also I used a phone when I bought it so the website didn't scale correctly. Sorry for typo I am using a tablet to type and it doesn't seem auto correct isn't working like most of the time. But don't worry I have a pc obviously so I'll be able to check if the SD is legit. I just use my tablet most of the time to transfer roms.

Ah gotcha, I was having a little fun with your Q&A. To be honest after examining the picture, that green, skinny font blends too well within the gold bubble. It's noticeable if you look for it, but I can now see how one could missed it at a quick glance. Sorry if that last comment is rude: I thought it was funny what seemed obvious. Heh.

As for the confusion why there are so many different R4 flashcarts, that's because after the original R4 company went under, many offshoot successors continued the name, kinda like Linux distros or family royalty lineage (ex: Hapsburg). China's lack of copyright and IP protection coupled with the gray market nature of these devices contributed in making and keeping these products confusing by marketing design.

Proof of that is your presence asking those important questions that a smart shopper like you should do.

Oh, you'll get a e-mail. That company behind nds-card.com sends out e-mails in batches. The crew that mans the e-store does queueing and order checks manually. Patience my friend. While the process of buying their goods with PayPal is in a sketchy fashion, it's the only way they can conduct business selling gaming goods that are considered contrabands in many countries. If the site wasn't trust worthy, it wouldn't have GBAtemp's trusted reseller recognition nor many proponents here who has personal experience shopping from them.

If you want to get in contact with them, they're usually good with answering comments on their product page.

I accidentally paid twice can someone tell how to get a refund on a accidental PayPal transfer thx. Ian new to PayPal and PayPal said the money will be able next year and panicked and sent another one I tried contacting him but still didn't reirecea refund. I am sorry this is a new experience to me with PayPal and all that.

Hey I've sent him a request to refund the the accidental transfer above he did answer but he still hasn't done it what do I do. Plus I don't think he said he was going to do it (he didn't give a clear answer or anything). Did I overwhelm him if I did i didn't mean to sometimes iam impatient but understanding I know that makes no sense but that's the pretty much the person I am if you understand. He seems fluid at English so what do I do. Iam sorry but I promise this will be my last question unless of course iam in situation where I've hit a dead end basically and don't know what to do. Guys so I'm stuck on this I guess I'll get my refund next year but seriously I don't see anything on my PayPal for the refund on the 2nd transfer.

Nvm looks like everything's okay now I got 64 gigs for both the system itself and the flashcard. And the old 32gigs for my psp adding up to 64gigs with the adapter.

Is this normal? PayPal I thought showed you your pending refunds. I tried doing what PayPal said you could by canceling it but it seems he got the money cause he sent the update out that he received it two times. So what I do I wasted money of course I would be panicking I really need the money for another SD card thats 64gigs cause I want to get the Ds remakes of RPGs like Chrono trigger,dragon quest, and final fantasy but there's so many I'll probably need a new card for those games and already installed games. And their SD cards are expensive, I just need an simple answer.

Sorry, I'm not familiar with nds-card refund policy in regards to prepaid credit card. You're either looking at receiving two (2) flashcarts or (full or $20) refund to your PayPal account. I'm not sure PayPal will hold onto money if a bank account or two way debit/credit card aren't provided or used.

Although most mainland Chinese people who studied English have a basic grasp in carrying out business greetings and transactions, you may need to get in contact with a Chinese translator to clarify to the nds-card staff the finer details of the mistaken purchase of that 2nd flashcart using a prepaid card.

Another thing to consider is that nds-card refunding you in such a short notice with their same receiving account may trigger a red flag in further scrutiny by PayPal. If anything were to look suspicious (ie, not smooth transactions, back-and-forth money transfers), your accounts would probably get frozen due to suspicion of money laundering.

If I were to guess how they would refund you, it would be from their secondary backup PayPal account. Yah, you kinda messed up on the patience part for this shopping expedition that should have otherwise been smooth sailing. :/

Yeah like I've said iam new too this. I guess nobody knows how to answer this. Maybe I should wait for them to get back to me but that'll be eleven o clock and I have to get up early tomorrow idk if I should risk it just in case something goes wrong. The best I could do is use Google translate and maybe keep copy and pasting around until I get a good sentence idk.

Looks like everythings getting resolved the website is good but please note you'll have to deal with being in contact at late at night near where I live so it's best to shop with PayPal where it isn't late at night when their open. Also PayPal community forums is a good place to go obivisiously don't go in blindy when first using PayPal or else you'll panic and have to go through what I had to. Overall right now the website gets a 7/10 there should be alternatives but most are too expensive,not legit,and redirect to a spam website if you go to the r4 website. There is modchips but for some reason their sold out. Again I'm not a reviewer and if this was a review I would put a disclaimer that their based in China and operate around that time zone so people's experiences might be terrible with the support. Again I don't expect them to expand even though copyright here is relaxed for emulation (not roms). But it seems like Nintendo now doesn't care about flashcarts. So it surprsing to see not many sellers in USA.
