The main con with every cfw is getting banned. Which you shouldn't do before the 18th. I forsee the entire switch scene depleting exponentially after the online service starts. There's really no reason to mod it after that because we'll have nes games and some secret prize thing they haven't started what yet.
Most of the current switch hacking scene has either accepted that since they modded they will be banned, or are already banned.
For this reason, and that homebrew can provide much more than NES games, I doubt the online service will have any impact on the size of the switch scene.

Edit: Didn't realize your post was from yesterday. Sorry about that.

Most people just buy sxos because the rcm clip is awesome and the dongle looks cool. Sxos also updated frequently. Ignore the haters below.
The SX pro dongle is terrible
Buy the atmosphere one which has a real battery, not transistor garbage

SX OS is the only one that offers XCI Support

You can convert XCI to NSP if you want but Nintendo seems to be banning people for using NSP

So SX OS really is the safest as well as being the most user friendly
Apparently Tinfoil should let you install xci pretty soon, so SX OS shouldn't stay the only CFW to support this format much longer.

Switch scene has shrunk. Because of various drama and toxicity we lost a lot of big heads though ReSwitched and others are still going strong. But in terms of the big guys who made a lot possible, have left. That will have impact down the road.

On the user side, Temps a decent barometer but this place got real quiet after the bans swept through, aside from the few clinging to hopes of unbanning. A lot of people on the periphery and in game-scenes like Splatoon fled inmediately because of ban fears (so the more casual, honest honebrewers have largely left). You can tell that bans had a major effect because we get questions about it almost weekly.

Nowadays discussion is real quiet aside from shit flinging over random stuff, someone soft or hard bricking themselves, the occasional fuck up in backup loading, or GaryOpas weekly newsletter.

Which on some level I find funny because of a lot of the hardware now feels like it's selling the same people who are shopping for shoes for payloads and modchips, and those threads are otherwise largely dead.

And as for people who got what they wanted and stopped posting/left, they're also largely out of the scene. Or won't contribute. They might come back when something breaks or they may not. They might come back to find out no one hacked new units...

BS. It's not the safest. People who have been using xci's have also been banned before. Also, you are COMPLETELY IGNORING , that with reinx and hekate that it DISABLES TELEMETRY. Meaning that data of that is likely never sent. Before that system module was patched things were pretty dangerous, but with it patched, using nsps is signifcantly safer than before. it's still has it's risks if your being stupid, such as playing online with a nsp you don't on. but saying that sx os is safer is just bs, it DOES NOTHING, to stop telemetry data, except block Nintendo entirely.
Been reading up on this, the "telemetry" being blocked isn't enough to be considered "safe". At least not in ReiNX. Also, you're never going to be safe. Just accept that and quit spinning tall tales. Xci is far safer than NSP at this point as there's no differentiating it from a legitimate card (aside from header/ticket checks). To put it simply? I'd get banned faster using my own converted NSP files compared to XCI.

Cons: No XCI loader yet. Which nobody really cares about as you can install NSPs on all CFWs (with sigpatches)

What are you telling? Everybody cares exactly about that because nobody wants and should install NSPs as long as you don't want to be on Ninty's blacklist.

Considering that not everyone cares about being banned(And face it, no matter what CFW you use, you WILL be banned eventually), it's not EVERYONE who cares about .XCI loading

Which is best... SX Pro or SX OS ? Mine is 3.0.0 and a virgin. It left in the storage for over a year or so. I want to play the backup games but I am not sure about a free CFW.

SX Pro = SX OS + SX Gear.
SX OS gives you the ability to install NSPs and play XCIs.
Every other CFW gives you the possibility to install NSPs and in the near future to install XCIs.

SX OS is just the OS itself. SX Pro comes with the dongle, the jig and a license for the OS. The only reason you'd want to go for SX OS right now is if you care about running .XCI games. If you don't care about that nor do you care about online gaming or online anything thn there is no reason why you shouldn't go for a free alternative

sx-os will also have the ability to install XCIs
The cons of SX-OS is that it costs money. The pros is that it's noob friendly. It copies developments in the community and many times improves on them.

The pros of other cfw is that it's free. The cons is that sometimes it requires you to know how to set up properly.

so bottom line is that you pay for ease of use and high quality jig/dongle but you can do it for cheaper with a little more effort.

Once they copy it, yea :D
And other CFWs can be as noob friendly as SX OS, if you find a "good" guide ;)

however the first comment on your guide is this
"Please remove joycon method to bridge pins in joycon its be proven to be dangerous and damage the hardware"

so that's not as noob friendly as sx-pro's plug and play dongle.
