i have got a mod switch running old CFW 16.0.1 ATM 1.5.5

Some new games want 20 now, just checking what's the latest tested ne CFW and ATM for switch.

Is it safer to go directly from 16 to 20 including ATM to latest.

i will also need updated Hekate 6.3.1 or is their any latest.

i will also need mission control 16 to use my wii u pro controller with switch.

i plan to connect my switch via usb c to laptop and update while the sd card is still in switch.

Thanks

I’m not sure what your question about CFW is, but yes you can update directly without any problems. Just download a new HATS pack with the latest Atmosphere version, and update your firmware using Daybreak. I’m currently on version 21.0.0 and it’s working perfectly.

If you update to a newer firmware, there’s a chance you may need to wait for updated sigpatches.

The best, safest, and cleanest setup is booting from EmuMMC.

Hats supports up to fw 21.0 now

Install hats before updating the firmware saves you a bit of time and pain when you reboot

Thanks.

I think you have some files that conflict try to delete the hekate_ipl.ini patches_template and keep the hekate_ipl

When transferring the hats pack also click the option "replace the files in the folder"

Your question about sysmmc or emummc depends on your initial setup emummc boots the ofw from your sd card, you can see it as a clone.

i got these 4 folders to put the new hats file in .
i might have choose both symmmc CFW and then emummc CFW

i then deleted the
Atmosphere
Bootloader and config from the root of my sd card.

but it still gives me the error and the games wont load but show in emummc CFW when i launch it but nothing loads.
sysmmc cfw does not show any games

can some one please help how to install 21 correctly.

Thanks

when i launch CFW emummc and
when i try to run tinfoil it gives the above error pictured in post 6. The games go in a loop as the above video.

Eject sd card copy all the files in the hats pack paste in the root of your sd card when you get a pop up click replace files in this folder

The sd card is in the switch.
LAunch hekate. And then click usb mode and trsnsfer files from hats to root of sd card.
I replace all the existing files in folder.
i might have updsted booth sysmmc and emummc to 21

nothing seems to be working. Tried all in a pack for the first time and regretting it now.
HATS-21112025-00b00fd.zip This Hats package installed but not loading any games, see above video going in a loop when try to load a game. I think the Atm in this pack is pre release, might be conflicting with some files.
When a stable Atm 1.10 will be released, keeping fingers crossed that it will fix the issue.
Noted this file
  • Hekate-ext (v6.4.1) - sthetix/hekate-ext might be causing a conflict as previously i had only Hekate.
Shall i downgrade to

Firmware 20.5.0

can some one please guide me how to fix this issue.

When you post photos and video please post in the correct orientation, it is hard to see for it to be sideway and upside down.

Trusting a pre-made pack is risky. It might work, but it might also mess up your system, as you experienced. It's much safer to do it manually. It might take a little more efforts, but you spend less time troubleshooting, if something went wrong. Check this guide created by @impeeza
