I have tried numerous times to get app2usb to move the games from my 5.05 ps4 to a 2tb external hdd.

It copies the files over rather than move them, I am not saving any disk space. They have definitely copied over as I can see them and if I pull out the usb drive the game fails to load.

The pkg files on the internal hard drive remain and are called app.pkg, if I delete them using ftp, then the game fails.

Any ideas why they are not moving properly.

My external hdd is 2tb, with a single partition and formatted to exfat

Thanks

They aren’t just “copied” over, they’re symlinked.

The PS4 needs them internally to run with apptousb, UNLESS you use HEN 1.7 and extended storage instead.

What you describe is apptousb working properly.

Well in the system setting if he is using App2usb it shows the total size of space that is used between the two HDD, but it doesn't add the free space up together, you can check again without the App2usb HDD connected after a reboot.

i can guarantee you that you are saving the internal space. Try slowly installing games, then run app2usb. keep doing it until you have more than whatever your internal hard drive can support. I have a 4TB external hard drive nearly full - and my internal is 1tb - only possible because app2usb is working as intended.
