3. you plugged it in the wrong USB Port, have multiple USB connected, or didn't set the path/options to display gamecube games properly.
4. your hard drive is just not compatible with the Wii

1. It's a standard HDD from toshiba, not ssd.
2. I checked again just to make sure. It is FAT32
3. both the thumbdrive and the hdd were plugged to the same usb port (the bottom one). I assume by path/options you mean how the games are organized in folders? If so, it is identical to the thmbdrive.
4. Im starting to think maybe this might be the case. It's real shame because the thumbdrive is too slow to run games properly. (I tested mario sunshine and the cutscenes were very laggy using that)
 
if the path are all identical, it should at least show the gamecube games.

Maybe toshiba drives are not compatible with cIOS, but you can try to use IOS58 inside the loader, it will let you launch gamecube games at least. (same as your flash device, so maybe it's not useful ?) edit: ah, at least it will not be slow for gamecube games.

Settings > Loader's settings > Loader's IOS : 58
Settings > HDD menu > Click on the first option to force a partition cache refresh/remount
Settings > custom path > Gamecube main path : verify it's correctly pointing to the /games/ folder.

maybe your drive has 2 partitions (one hidden one?) so maybe the gamecube need to point to "usb2:/games/" instead of default "usb1:/games/"

hidden partitions should be skipped by the loader, and only compatible partitions should be displayed/numbered.
if you have a hidden partition, maybe that's the reason it doesn't work. did you check the drive in a partition manager, see if the partition starts at the start of the drive or if you have a hidden or unallocated space before the fat32.


except this, I don't know how to fix your drive to work with cIOS, sorry.
Maybe someone else would have an idea ?

Most of the times I get a blackscreen while I try to run a game.
New Super Mario Bros and Super Mario Galaxy runs fine though.

I'm using a 32 GB flashdrive.
I'm using usb loader gx 3.0 r12.68.
Running cIOS v10 beta 52 with base 56, slot 249.

I'm using d2x v8 final base56 on a PAL WII and I'm having troubles (black screen - frozen WII) loading some (not all as some work like Punch Out) of the USA games like BOOM BLOX BASH PARTY and ONE PIECE UNLIMITED (I have set use disc default on NTSC/PAL option)... Anyone got an idea of what to do? Tnx all in advance.

Did you read the thread and make sure you're having the same issue? Because you could at least provide the same info the OP was asked for: What kind of storage device is it and cIOSes do you have installed?

that one is not the loader's fault, it's the game itself.
the game is not designed to work on PAL consoles, it doesn't have any PAL video mode in the executable.

you need to patch the dol, hopefully the loader can do it, you don't need to do it manually anymore.
select the game > option > game option :
video mode : force PAL480p (you have widescreen + component, right?), or maybe try with 480i if progressive doesn't work.
dol patch : ALL (or full, I don't remember the option name)

it will patch the dol to replace all video modes to PAL instead of NTSC.

let me know if it fixed the issue, it's been a long time I didn't play that game.

First : Flashdrive are barely compatible. it could be your problem here.

now, you said some games are working, so maybe the drive works fine (maybe not), and you have another issue.
could be :
video mode (be sure it's disc default)
game from another region (not always the best choice to not use your own region)
game not found (wrong folder or corrupted file)
debug mode enabled, while you don't have any debugger hardware
file is write protected on your FAT32 partition

@GreyWolf I've read the theme, written which cIOS (d2x v8 final base56) u can see it at the very beggining of my post. I didnt state that I'm using WD Elements of 1Tb as I know that the storage is not the problem here but the mode in which should I run the game... As I've also written that most of the games work (All PALs and some NTSCs).

@Cyan I'm using the WII2HDMI and yes im running it on a 55" Samsung TV via a HDMI cable...
I tried enabling DOL as you said but there is only the option of "Alternate DOL" (and has 3 options besides OFF or default, select a DOL from game, Load from SD/USD, list on game launch) to which is connected the next one that is "Select DOL Offset". Doesnt matter whichever I chose it all says "Not required" in the connected option. The only option that seems "alive" is select a DOL from the game, but that gives me a "0" (which when clickin on it says "ERROR No dol file found on disc" and resets the DOL settings) in the next option and it doesnt fix the game...

I guess its the same problem with ONEPIECE and BOOMBLOX BASH PARTY.
 
it's not the option I told about.

don't use "alt dol", you don't need to load an alternative dol (unless you patched it yourself, and it's located on the SD card! like I said you don't need to patch it manually anymore so no need to load it from SD either)
the one you want is located near the video mode settings. it's used to patch the video mode list inside the dol. (video dol patch ? vid dol patch? something like that)
if you don't have that option, you are not using the correct version of the loader. (even if you said 1268, sometime people also install the full channel and it's r1180 with less features. be sure to launch it from the forwarder channel or from HBC)

just a precision : which one piece unlimited ? Adventure or Cruise?
the one with this video problem is the first OP Unlimited Adventure game (the second one is fine, and cruise is fine).

I don't know if there is any specification with hdmi converter.

boomblox should work fine. maybe your iso is bad.

it's custom IOS (Input Output System), there's no "L" in it.


you have USBLoaderGX version "3.0c" which is old.
like 3 or 4 years old.
v3.0c is revision 1180, and the current latest revision is 1268.

usb2.0 western digital if you find any. if not, go with usb3.0.
try to avoid toshiba as some users had detection issues with this brand, but other users don't have problem.

all drives brand/size should work, but it's always easier if less than 2TB. (less things to care about partition type / size)
 
I'm having an issue with the black screen as well. I have tried forcing different regions, and switching between 250 and 249 in launch settings. Some games (tested: Super Paper Mario) work, but others go to a black screen (tested: Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga, Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess). I have also run SysCheck, then followed ModMii's generated guide.

if some game work, some don't, then it's not a cIOS issue.
it's either the game (bad iso) or the file (wrong filename, wrong path), or the settings (wrong region, wrong video mode), or you enabled debug mode.
try another loader to know if the problem is a loader's setting.

After messing around online trying to fix it I downloaded some new IOS so here's the new

Your syscheck report is correct, you have to install the version of cios d2x final8, it should work again.

This is just an opinion:

Cyan said that now he installs the 249 ==> cios on base 57 for better gaming connectivity.

With your version of cios d2x verion finale8, But that does not prevent that the cios 249 is to install on base 56, it will work also. But some games will use the cios 250.

What is your support (usb key, external hard drive) ??

The usb support must be in FAT32.

if you install base 57 in slot 250, you need to go to your USBLoader settings and set 250 by default instead of 249.
always set the default slot number in your setting based on where you installed "[57]".


if you edited a lot of settings while trying to fix black screen, and before fixing your cIOS, you should reset your loader settings before trying anything new.
 
Thank you so much! I finally got it to work again but in the process something happened to my USB so that's a bummer but oh well. Thankfully I still have my old USB with a good chunk of the games
