1) A friend of mine wants to LEGIT upgrade from 4.0.1 to 4.1, but doesn't have a 4.1 cart, can he do it with this by unchecking AutoRCM install ? thanks.

2) did anyone get REINX to work with this ?

Where's the source? Not even touching this without being able to compile myself and see what it does. Also pretty sure this is based on GPL licensed code so not providing source is illegal

Read ThirdParty.txt in the archive, no GPL code is used.

1. Why not ?
2. Never use ReiNX, there's absolutely no reason to.

Hi everyone, quick question : before updating my switch through this tutorial I tried adding the kip1patch=nogc option to my hekate_ipl.ini to launch my stock 2.0.0 FW in order to verify that the game card would indeed get disabled, and I can still launch Zelda via gamecard, is this normal or is the option somehow not applied ? From my understanding this option should straight up disable the card reader, but maybe it only does so on a FW >= 4.0 ?
Thanks in advance

It only does so on 4.0.0+, theres no reason to do it earlier.

curses, this is child unfriedly :(

the child knows how to access the power menu ? i thought they would just put the switch to sleep, which has no problems.
(you can also shutdown just by holding the power button for 12 seconds, that wont come back up unless re-plugged into usb)

So holding the power button for 12 sec also technically powers it off in auto-rcm (until you plug in usb)?

1) Thanks for the answer. (and I don't know "why not", hence my question lol, you made this, not me lol)

2) why isn't there a reason to ?
me ? Sorry if this sounds rude or disrespectful to you and you work but I want to upgrade from 3.0.1 to 5.1, but keep my GC off, then, I can't play my carts, hence I want to use reinx to play the games I own as a cart, but on the eshop format. does that not make any sense ? sorry, but it does for me.

There's no reason to use ReiNX. It is worse than SXOS (they actually wrote some code that can't be found anywhere else, and also aren't illegally distributing nintendo sysmodules inside their packages).
1. add all the kips inside the sysmodules folder to your hekate launch profile (there likely arent any other than the standard 2), congratulations, now you can use hekate instead of ReiNX.bin which is a crippled version of it
2. while you're at it, replace loader.kip and sm.kip with the original versions from atmosphere (working versions easily found in tomger sdfiles), then rename your ReiNX folder to atmosphere (literally the only change Rei has made to the atmosphere loader.kip), congratulations, you dont have to worry about keep using the ReiNX "modded" versions of these anymore (or keeping 2 separate folders with the same stuff because of the folder name change).

there are no advantages and only disadvantages of using the ReiNX "CFW" (more like repack), so I see no reason to support it's problems.

Thanks for taking the time to explain this, I really appreciate it! (I haven't used reinx yet, but was planning to, once I moved to 5.1 with no GC, but now I don't need to, thanks to you :) (also I always use Tomger sdfiles but thanks for pointing that out, I saw it was just updated too :)))

i am trying to extract the update file from Octopath Traveler
there is update.hfs0 and there is another folder contain alot of nca files, which one i choose?
i am using xci exploror and there is too many files and i have to extract each file one time each, can't i extract all the file in the same time?

I'd recommend just using the commandline i posted (it only gets the update out into the folder specified). It's probably the folder full of ncas though.
