1.4 keeps crashing on me....

Shutdown message on opening gallery after playing game

Just tried to close software on la noire and switch froze.

I had issues with 1.3 and would only use 1.4 for playing 1-2 switch and LA Noire

Could I rename boot.dat for say 1.4 and use a modified bin on my phone so I have two dats on my card and two bins on my phone for NXLoader so in can boot required sx os depending on game I want to play without taking our card.

Or could I just replace the dat using ftp through sx os then reboot with rcm and NXLoader.

Once sx os has booted does it access rely on the dat in anyway?

The SXOS payload loader only looks for boot.dat, if you rename it it won't find it. We cannot change what file it looks for yet because it's encrypted and can't be changed. Yet... I think..

Yes you can replace the boot.dat file over FTP while in SX OS. I have done so for every update since launch. Although I've made sure to reboot right afterwords.

I'll just change the boot.dat in ftp when needed will be using 1.3 90% of the time had no freezes or crashes with that except for known game issues

I've not had freezes or crashes at all with 1.4 (knock on wood). Maybe your SD is fake? Since you seem to be having more problems than most people.

Genuine card from Tesco

What do you mean by genuine? Amazon and BestBuy sell "genuine" cards that are "fake". Just because you bought it from Tesco doesn't mean shit. You should have a quick look at it anyway just to be sure. Many people on here have been hosed by fake cards because they didn't pay attention.

Anyway, it was just a suggestion.

You could save yourself the few seconds of waiting for the boot.dat to transfer and have them both on the card. Name one something like "1.3.dat" and the 1.4 would be boot.dat while you're using it. Then just rename your 1.4 boot.dat to "1.4.dat" and rename your 1.3 to boot.dat. That's what I would do. Hell, you could even use nx-shell to do it from the switch if you wanted. Maybe it's just me and I'm just crazy. XD

I'm confused as to why you would need to run an older version, something is wrong.

Definitely. But if this is what works for OP until they figure out what's up, so be it. I perosnally haven't had issues with 1.4, aside from 1 nsp not wanting to install through the SX menu, but I haven't had issues since that single nsp.

Actually it does matter, it's very unlikely to find fake cards being sold among genuine ones at well known stores. There have been cases of fake Kingston cards being snuck in among genuine ones and ending up on Amazon etc. but that seems to be specific to Kingston. As long as you're buying directly from a well known reputable store the chances of ending up with a fake are miniscule.
