Tried three different certs, two of which were never used, yet it still says rejected by server. So, what's the truth here?

Try a VPN maybe they are IP banning too?

Nothing to do with IP address's

How can they ban a cert that was NEVER USED?!

It has been used though, it's just not from the switch side of it, for CDNSP at least, unsure if FreeshopNX uses the Switch's own Cert or the one they supply.

With probably hundreds if not thousands of NSP downloads in the last 2 days, it was hardly surprising they eventually banned the Cert

So I guess this confirms that some of the superbans were real, and not maintenance.

?

Great, expect your own cert to be banned aswell then
That's not the point I was making. I was clarifying that by default Freeshop uses your own console's certificate. In theory, you can substitute it with someone else's but most people would never agree to sharing their console's certificate.

Okay, if you only download your own games that would be fine, but I guess if you download something else you will get a cert ban.
Wasn't the whole point of freeshop being able to download anything you want and thus using a shared cert?

On the 3DS, this was possible because Nintendo could not track who was downloading what. On the Switch, the certificate is required to access the CDN meaning Nintendo can track whomever is downloading what. A CDN tool lets you use others' certificates after they are decrypted properly which is how the community is currently obtaining the .NSP files. However, there's a modification made to that so it can run on your console as a homebrew titled Freeshop. And we cannot simply inject another certificate into another console without Nintendo's 2048-character long key because the console is designed to reject anything that is not properly signed.
