Hacking Question Block Nintendo Servers and Keep WiFi On?

I'm looking to see if there's a way to block Nintendo Servers while being on WiFi. I don't want to modify my router to block the IPs/locations across my entire home connection. Is there a way to block it on the individual Switch level? I still want to do things like access the homebrew app store or turning on my FTP server without being connected to the Nintendo servers.

EDIT: I don't want to block it at my router because I don't always sleep in one place. I sometimes stay in hotels, at my parent's place, my own home, or at a friend's. Since everyone seems to be questioning that...

Im not sure about your specific router, but a lot of routers have the options to block a site or ip only for specific devices. You need to look into it for your specific router.

I don't want to block it on my router. I want to block it within the CFW or within the Switch somehow. Is there a Hosts file like in Android that would block specific domains or IP ranges? For example, AdAway for Android.

CCProxy and the like all require me to modify something besides my Switch. It will not work if I go to a friend's place and use their WiFi for example. I want a solution that modifies it on the Switch itself, but it seems like that's not possible yet.

CCProxy doesn't modify your router, it just routes the switch internet traffic to your computer where it filters out the update servers only, and then goes to the Switch. If you scroll through that tutorial, it doesn't mention editing the router once. All you do is go to wifi settings on the switch itself to set a DNS address, so the traffic goes through the computer first. Yes, you are right that it would only work on your wifi, not all wifi. Unless, of course, you portforward the server, etc., but that would be more complicated. I haven't tried doing any of that, but I'm sure it would be possible.

Yeah sorry I corrected my post. I don't want to mess with anything outside of my Switch. Routing all my Switch's web traffic through a PC is just a non-option. I'm looking for a convenient solution, not a hack. If i were to hack it, I'd just bring a wireless repeater with DD-WRT everywhere.

But it's the type thing where you setup the server once, and all you have to do is edit your DNS address every time you connect to a new network (if you port forward the proxy server that is).

You can set the DNS servers on the Switch to one that blocks Nintendo servers (have a look around if one exists), or use something like OpenDNS to block the servers, but OpenDNS requires you to set up the block for every network you use it on and if the IP changes then it stops blocking.

Makes sense, then there is nothing similar to what you described, unless there is currently a public DNS server that does this, which I'm not sure about.

Why would you not want to just block it indefinitely though on the router?

So far, I've only seen ones for blocking updates. I want to block like...every Nintendo related site, including eShop. I'm sure there's a lot of connections that "phones home" to send some statistics around how much you've played your Switch, some potentially may ban you if it includes a check if you've got AutoRCM.

You can host a dns server (or someone else can do it, like me ) but first you need to have a list of every domain the Switch connects to in order to block them.
I think the SwitchBru DNS blocks a lot of them, but I don't know if it blocks all of them.

Yep this is prolly the best way to block specific nintendo servers. I've been using CCproxy since I've been using SX OS (updating games in OFW, downloading DLC from eshop), I havn't been banned yet. It's been at least 3-4 weeks since I've connected to Nintendo after setting up SX OS.

I Highly recommend ccproxy.

I had to whitelist a specific domain to allow the connection test to pass so it would allow the Switch to verify the connection.

This will block any *.nintendo.net and *.nintendowifi.net request and allow you to connect to your wifi without any nintendo server. But this works using your computer as a DNS.

I have a pihole as well. What domains should I be blocking?
