PROJECT STATUS NEWS UPDATE: July 17th - Team REBUG has gotten their Switch Modchip Up and Running Perfectly! :)
SwitchMeUp-Installed.jpg

The last update we had from Team REBUG on their project status was back on July 4th, that they got in the 'final prototype' PCBoards and now they had time to assemble them, polish up the coding a bit, and installed one in their Nintendo Switch consoles and below we present to you the very first video of it booting up and working, along with the latest Tweets from their project team leader.

Mod chip works :)

I've tested a few configurations with rcm strapping, hardware auto RCM and software RCM. Easiest by far is software auto RCM and a easy 4 wire install. Oh no case bluge :)

Seeing Videos are just better, here you go :p

Nintendo Switch Mod Chip 4 wire install (just showing off without auto rcm) 3 Clicks and its off to OZ :)

Huge thanx to everyone involved in the Switch Scene!

Trying not to be negative cos i love hardware mods, but does this bring anything to the table that the 10$ TrinketM0 or Gen M0 cannot do?

People are asking is it a cold boot boot but i suspect its running with switch in AutoRCM mode and getting 3v off the that tiny cap near the M92T36 chip so its not on when switch is powered off.

OP can you post more info ?

Hardware mods can be cool so I'm not trying to be negative here......but

What are the EXTRA features? What does it do that is new and can't be done already?

To point out 1 example at random, in the Wii Scene a WODE was released and at that time playing GameCube games for a HDD couldn't be done. So it meant buying a WODE gave you something extra that was very hard to do without.

Another easier example would be let's say new controllers.
If they just do what others do then all that matters is the price and ease of using/installing (none for a controller) so if they have lets say auto fire, then it makes them cool and worth it for many people in many circumstances.

So back to my question, what EXTRA features does it have?

Impress me......

There are none, they claim the installation is easier, but that's it.
Even worse: This thing relies on on AutoRCM which may be a possible ban cause.
The fact that they try to sell something, that is already widely available and open source really bugs me.

I don't see how can be easier, it uses the exact same wiring as the trinket. Power, ground, data+ and data- that's your 4

At least with trinket you can power button, vol + and pin 10 so it activates RCM mode.

When you said really bugs you, didn't you mean re-bugs you.. (couldn't help myself)

That would mean that they have no wire to sense the switches state which means the SAMD they use is always on, not even sleep mode. Resulting in a significant battery drain!

Who has the time to actually do this? Where can I purchase said calculator
Probably cheaper/faster to use Floppy drives. The time comes from modding the calcs to output the notes . $$$ = profit = notes.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Wait what? What does that have to do with anything? xd
Its that age old Q Tea or Coffee ? to which he/she replies , ....... Yes.

Thank you for not being functional or fully released yet ATMOSPHERE for the win . (IF he can do it so can i right ??????)

Too funny all these comments, yeah no shit its late to the game because anyone can use pretty much any m0+ dev board.
Hell your FREE solution is to just use your computer or phone, just make sure you don't get a cable that will burn up the switch ;)
Ours will be cheaper and you don't need to remove a bunch of shit to fit it in the console.
There are plenty of way to inject payloads, if your choice is just using your computer/phone or using a tx dongle go ahead, if you want to use a trinket or gemma, over this board go ahead they all do the same thing...
We originally just made these for ourselves so we didn't have to keep plugging the switch in every time we wanted to test something.
trinkets are $9 + shipping which brings them to $15 usually.

If you're able to undercut the trinket and people don't have to desolder the usb and risk fucking up the pads then I think it's worthwhile. How much are you expecting to sell for? (just curious as I've already got a trinket installed)

Competition is always good for the market so its nice to see another one :D

Also wtf is with this thread ...

Cool stuff. Are they also working on a CFW?
Nope, look at the video - Guess what they were using (look at the bootlogo) :P
