Hacking [Total Noob] R4I SDHC/3DS Help

Hi Everyone,

The first question basically is: "Can my card run on the 3DS, and if so - how?"

I have an R4I-SDHC, which shows version "1.4" in the shiny yellow sticker. What I'm wondering is, can this be used with a 3DS? Do you need more info to determine this?

I'm not looking to run 3DS games, just normal DS games, if that makes any difference.

What website is on the card?

Also, it doesn't matter if you would've wanted to run 3DS games or not because they can't be run on ANYTHING. Period.

Just download the update R4i sdhc v1.59b. you good to go on your 3ds.

Alrighty. Your card can run on the 3DS but you might need to update it if it doesn't already. To do so, you'll need some sort of DS system the card still works on (All DS Phat/DS Lite systems will work, DSi/3DS depends).

Once you determine that, go here: http://r4i-sdhc.com/downloade.asp and download the language of your choice and put it on your SD card and follow the instructions below the download. Then your card will work just fine.

Okay so I downloaded the files, and extracted them to the root (moonmeno/moonshl2/R4iMenu/R4.dat). When I go to update, it does not give me the update option, only the current version. When I go to options, and 'update' I get:

"To enable upgrade feature again, please restore "R4iMenu/flash.r4i" file.

What am I missing here? Sorry for being entirely dumb in this regard.

Have you checked to see if the file is there? Try extracting it again.

What version number does it give you?

I'm not entirely sure I'm using the right files.

Looking at this site, my card doesn't seem to support 1.59b (If I'm reading it right, and I hope I am not!). I think mine is the one with "1.11C" as the latest. I have a feeling this card isn't compatible with 3DS Mine has "1.4" as the version, no ".1 or .2" or anything after it.

Ah whoops. Didn't see the 1.4 part. Yeah your card doesn't support the 3DS unfortunately.

I know this problem is ancient but I have an R4i 1.4 with a wifi logo on it.
Is it a clone? (I really hope not!)
Also, on what version can I upgrade my R4i 1.4?

Not enough description. Can you provide pictures of your actual flashcart? There are many out there that a lot of them look the same.

Okie dokie here you go... If you're too bored to download the image then I'll describe it to you: 1. The sticker doesn't look out of place 2. It says 1.4 AND WiFi! 3. It has something VERY unique that NO OTHER card has... It says "2010.07" on the bottom of the sticker! (To be fair, When I bought my DSi XL, it was 1.4E and I found this R4i... for free... Also, there were some beach pictures in dsi camera... must've been used before IDK...) 4. Yes, it has a "down" arrow on the bottom of the card That's all! Please tell me if it's fake or not... Also please gimme instructions on how to get to the wifi engine...

What is the website listed on your card? Is it www.r4i-sdhc.com ?

Edit - Did some photo editing. Is this exactly how it looks?

I don't how your specific flashcart works. Yours fall under the R4i-SDHC family.
