to be fair some of us didnt really have the money to do that even, i got my switch and that was it.i didnt have the money for extra games, screen protectors, etc.. so its kinda hard to sit down and spend another 40 dollars on a license for an OS that has brick code that any 1 member at tx could possibly fuck up

hekate never was based on Atmosphere. Actually, it's even the opposite, since Fusée uses code from hekate.
People just used it with parts of Atmosphere, but hekate is built independently from the ground up. To put it simply, it would be an alternative to the Fusée part of Atmosphere, which isn't functional yet, as far as I'm aware.

Reinand was first, but Aurora Wright forked the code and made AuReiNand, that later after a fight changed to Luma3DS. So ReiNAND is the foundation of Luma3DS until Aurora Wright and TuxSH more or less rewrote it.
So Rei is legit.

Stubborn skepticism isn't any better than blind optimism, honestly. Rei has been in the scene for quite some time. Even BogInstaller/Mememenu/Call it what you will, despite being a grade-A shitpost, is a legitimate program with an intended legitimate purpose. Tl;dr, just sit tight and let's see where this is going.

I think it's great having more CFW options, and that Rei is throwing their hat into the ring. Perhaps someone will find ways of patching out some AP so we aren't being banned, or spoof firmware versions, and frankenfirms without burning efuses.

It's probably a modified atmosphere, if so most of the work is done.
