This is the exact problem--you're presenting your opinion as facts. That's the OP's point. You want to present it as facts, when the truth is that they're really your opinions.

If that the case then I'm obviously being mis read or understood as that's not by any means the truth I'm only giving my opinion and stating what information is available in one compressed space to avoid 100 post of the same thing over and over being asked by script kiddies joining the forum daily to ask the same thing repeatedly.

About autoRCM and battery:
Is it really true that if the battery dies in autoRCM I can't charge the switch?
Can I just turn off the switch by holding the power button so it doesn't consume battery life?

Read the first line of the original post. Nothing in that indicates that you're just talking about your own opinion.

Expect you were stating everything as fact, and proven wrong, then deflected the proof with more crap. This thread isn't proof of anything and is just pure fanboy whining.

Opinions don't always necessary equate to something being true, either, so...

Due to the way batteries work, they will slowly drain, even without use

Yeah, doesn't really get me excited for Switch homebrew.

I'm rather incline to the open source side of things I've just given my 2 cents in about my opinion of a paid solution that's out. Atmosphere as I've stated before will in the future be a more reliable solution instead of tx SX OS. But there many coming to this forum with little to none exp or knowledge of the current offerings and just want a plug and play solution to there needs.
If by informing them of there option it seems I'm bias that's your opinion to have but I'll rather let the script kiddies just get the easy solution then let them try to run shit they don't know how to run and end up bricking/damaging there consoles and flooding the forum with help post.
I heard that. I won't say I am in any camp. I don't even have a Switch to test anything anything atm. I am here because the curiosity about homebrew. I am not into this X vs Y thing. I am just not appreciating some people who is dead on one thing and pop up everywhere pushing that onto other people. As you said there are many with little to none exp or knowledge (me being the little knowledge group myself). And those would appreciate unbiased concentrated info instead. Let nature does its thing, not pushing people one way or another when there is certain sensitive stuff aka brickcode being involved.

Anyways, now we have a thread specific for this purpose, best wishes to maintain it and clarify info for people

My Switch does charge while in RCM mode using TX's AutoRCM I know there was a problem with the original implementation but TX's seems to charge fine.

RCM is the same for everything. I have also heard other people say it charged in RCM fine. The problem seems to be if the battery is fully discharged, that's when it won't charge in RCM.

In RCM mode you can't tell the difference between on and off, the only way to be sure it's really off is to power off fully from within SX OS or OFW.

So... does that mean that leaving your Switch in the dock all the time is not recommended if you have CFW running?

That'd be a major bummer.

When you're in CFW you're not in RCM mode anymore so no worries.
I still wouldn't leave the Switch in the dock all the time, because it adds unnecessary wear and tear to the battery. Keeping a battery topped up all the time is far worse for it than recharging it when it gets to say 25-50%.
The military spec for recharge and use of rechargeable lithium batteries keeps the batteries somewhere in the middle, never fully discharged and never fully charged, as it multiplies the battery lifetime. But that's obviously going to make the already low battery runtime of the Switch even lower so I'm not suggesting that.
