Could it be that people that are getting banned at one point used LayerFS?

LayeredFS seems to be a big trigger. Many people who reported that they have been banned have used LayeredFS, at least once. It's for sure not the only trigger since some people didn't use it and were still banned.

Does anyone know if a banned Switch can still play games in local with other Switches? Also does Switch have a direct connection feature to connect with other Switches to play wirelessly local or does it need to be connected on a router?

Generally, bans don't restrict offline functionality, so it should still work. No, you don't need an internet connection for local multiplayer.

ONly used SXOS offline (no updates on games) and some emulators before (also offline). no ban yet (gone online for the first time to look for ban )

That's all I did too, as well as edit my xeno 2 save a bit and I got banned

No, always enabled airplane mode before homebrew and only launched splatoon like once while running hekate. I guess I'll talk to customer support or something. Idk

Dont get your hopes up we need more proof or in case that proof is enough for you then report back when you get banned so the others can know better the risk

Okay so one question, if these people own these games they why on earth do these posts always start out with having to go onto the eshop to update the game when these games haven’t had updates for them needed in a while? I mean my Mario kart 8 hasn’t needed an update in ages and I still have no issues?

Not getting my hopes up, just analysing the information. So far we've yet to hear of that kind of ban.

Used LFS, now using SX OS(since launch) with around 8 back ups.
Got online with SX OS only twice by mistake while loaded DOOM and FIFA 18 and got the Game is banned message only on both of them.
I'm clearing my logs every time before going into OFW(or when something is crashing) and getting online only after loading to OFW.
Seems everything is fine for me, can still connect to eShop and can play Fortnite.

Hi everyone!

I just open this account to say what I do when using SX.

First of all, before I used SX, I created a secondary account without internet.

1. Turn on airplane mode, then turn switch off, boot SX and play (using secondary account).
2. Turn off switch, boot OFW (normal turn off/on, not using the SX OFW option).
3. BEFORE turning off airplane mode, I delete all the games that SX mounted (Manage Software -> Delete Software). This "delete" the game from the system except the saves (XCI on the SD isn't deleted).
4. Then I use my switch with internet with my primary account.

I know that the switch keep logs, so maybe all of this is for nothing, but still I would keep doing it just in case and for testing purpose lol.

I’ve been using Hekate for emulators and lfs for Skyrim mods. Haven’t been terribly careful with airplane mode. Still able to play Paladins online. No pirated games no sx os. If CFW alone were enough to ban I’m pretty sure I’d have been bit.

It could also be that only people that were online when Nintendo checked got bit or something. May not be a perfect pattern to see.
