Interesting.. Now this poses some more questions..

efuse burn protection? Hm. Does this mean any major update will no longer burn efuses? Doubtful, but I'm asking anyways.

Certificate emulating? Now we can play online and avoid a certain error? Hm.
People who used rajkosto method to run higher or lower firmware reported that SX would burn the fuses when booted (e.g. you were on 4.1 and updated to 5.1 without burning efuses, but SX would burn then regardless). So this is a fix for that problem. If you update using the usual method it will burn fuses normally

The obvious answer but still curious as to the extent. Is this all it does?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I was just curious if the xci dumper done the job or if I needed a different homebrew to do it.

Last question if I trim the games are the certs still intact
I'd like to know too. AFAIK, the trimmer only cleans up garbage (filler) data. So, I'd like to believe the cert is intact.

The efuse burning is that when console boots up, there is a method to update without burning the efuse and get the exfat and everything, but when you loaded sx os in the latest the system would check that all efuses were burnt and burn them, this would prevent this from happening in sx os

There is a considerable amount of incentive for team xecuter to keep on pumping updates with more features... with the amount of funds they have recently acquired with their SX pro and OS release it’s gonna be really hard for any other dev to catch up for a little while I think

Did you see what i see?!

To play online your game (XCI) files need to have a unique certificate embedded. We now properly emulate these certificates, so dumps that have them embedded will be able to play online!

THIS PROBABLY MEANS YOU CAN DUMP A CERTIFICATE FROM A CERTAIN GAME AND INJECT IT TO ANOTHER GAME !
So we don't have to own the same game to do this
Lol I see you post stuff like this in multiple threads. What makes you think this? Its very likely each certificate is tied to an individual game...

> Support user cert in XCI

So basically, anybody who used SX OS with cartridge dumps from games they LEGITIMATELY owned either got banned or will get banned (in a future banwave) because for whatever reason SX OS didn't support (or probably masked) user certs. Enjoy your bans early adopters.

The only cool thing (or two) for me, is that you can load another payload for free. But that isn't that hard, and is actually possible with memloader (hekate might replicate it from memloader)

Btw if you want to keep youre nand clean, don't dun a license enabled/cracked boot.dat. Apparently it write data to nand, and we don't know why.

I am not sure, but is there a reason for Nintendo to not use the new gamecards?

No, there is also no reason why they can't introduce new cards with newer protection methods that would be hard to support. We just have to wait and see.

But the game cert needs to match the game ID, AFAIK. Well, someone could test it anyways

Yes the game cert has to come from the cart. So it's ok for backing up all the games you own. But you can't mix and match.

Has that been clarified? Again, that's an obvious answer, but does it stop there?

Yeah, I'm not sure it's that clear cut. rajkosto method is for taking the firmware from a cartridge dump and then installing it, because there is no free method of mounting the cartridge dump and letting it just install.

If you use autorcm so the console can never reboot without loading a payload then you might be safe installing the firmware from a cart.
