But they supposedly dont have the stock to sell and 180 is at a price where someone may be willing to buy it for, not say £999.99.
Speaking in general though, you would expect an authorised reseller to sell at the RRP at the most.
People pay money just to get in line, of course there is no guarantee that anyone will actually receive one in the UK anyway & so I'm not sure I'd pay up front when someone doesn't have stock.
In the UK it's illegal for prices to be set by the manufacturer, which is why it's only Recommended.
I still think it could be handled better and its typical for authorised resellers to stay at or below the RRP for the base product.
thats cazy thats 238.85 in usa dollars i only payed180 pounds for SX pro from r4card.co.uk seems fair

Just awake when I posted this . Reading further they do say it's jacked up to stop pre orders while they deal with current shipments . I bought from there 17th of may .
So looks like they are prepping wave 1 shipments.
It's typical for authorised resellers to set prices based on what they think they can charge. In a lot of cases that might be the RRP or lower, which nobody complains about. Why complain if the situation arises that the market would support a price higher than the arbitrarily set RRP?
Of course we want the price lower because it's more money in our pocket, but resellers are people too and they also want more money in their pocket.
people may hate it simply because they’re charging more than the price they’re expecting
Right, moral outrage comes from how "unfair" it is on the individual. Because there are more individuals who think it's "unfair" than there are sellers & you don't hear from them, then you end up finding a confirmation bias.
You must really hate the show Watchdog.
No, I love it. The SX Pro wouldn't end up on there.
They aren't cold calling old people telling them that a SX Pro normally costs £1000 but they can sell you one for £199 & if you don't buy one then your house will collapse.
SX Pro customers should be technically savvy enough to know what it's for, how much it's worth spending. If people don't receive the SX Pro they paid for then that could be a scandal.... but that is irrelevant what price you bought it for.
Dont know why we’re still talking about the SX pro at this point since its been established that the reason was to discourage sales and they even leave a note saying so, I was merely saying it should have been higher for said reason as it gave a bad impression.
Right, that point was already made. My argument is that IF they were trying to sell it for that price then it's up to them, you make a decision whether to buy it at what ever price it's on sale for.
So it shouldn't leave a bad impression. What does give a bad impression is when sellers put a price down while it's out of stock and don't let you place an order, as a way of driving hits on things like google shopping.
Basicaly you’re making an argument out of a comment in a different context.
Shall we agree to disagree and leave it there because this is getting silly now.
