They do it slightly differently, some black screen problems that aren't able to be fixed with GodMode9 can be fixed with Decrypt9.

So your Recovery Mode works, but your HOME Menu only shows blank/black?

As silly as this sounds, try removing & reinserting your battery and then booting up the 2DS without an SD card in place. This most likely won't work, but worth a shot.

I got my kit, opened it up, took the battery, put it back in, and it didn't do anything.

Have you tried deleting Your home menu extdata from sdcard, that causes issues with black screen... Tell me Your console region and i will tell you what folder to delete

Ok open godmode9 with sdcard inserted and go to A:/extdata/00000000/ and delete the folder 0000008f if i am correct then try reboot your console

Then on your sd card go on Nintendo 3DS/randomlettersandnumber/randomlettersandnumbers/extdata/00000000/ then try delete that folder if you find it

I used the torrent provided by 3ds.guide

your 2ds nand may be corrupted or you transfered the wrong image to your console you can still manually reinstall the home menu but i can't link nintendo copyrighted stuff

EDIT: if you have a gamecard(legit game) you can get the files from it

For starters you are in the 0: SDCARD which is way off from the one you want You want A: sysnand sd from the list. extdata from there 00000000 then 0000008f

that is what i told but he do not have the n3ds folder on his sdcard so the only thing could be extracting a working homemenu from a gamecard if it does have update files

Mine has nothing of the sort either when I search my sd card contents from there. I just believe he is looking in wrong spot.

Nvm. I found where it is. Weird that OP doesnt have one listed in there.

well my home menu are in SYSNANDSD/extdata/00000000/00000098 as i have eur N3DS
