I have't seen anyone test the depletion rate while its turned off (maybe because its not very useful info but that's just my opinion). Even the numbers for sleep mode can vary depending on who you ask. You also have to account for how many charging cycles your Switch has gone through. The more times you deplete the battery and fully charge it, the smaller the battery life gets. But we don't even know by how much this gets reduced per cycle.
You need Puyo-Puyo for 1.0 because it doesn't have a browser. 3.0 can do it without Puyo-Puyo or a hardmod because of Pegaswitch which is a web-based server. There is no pure softmod solution for 1.0. However, if you don't want to buy Puyo-Puyo and don't mind doing the hardmod, you can wait for someone to convert the Fake News installer into a homebrew app or payload so you won't have to do the hardmod anymore. Fake News is the exploit that is installed via Puyo-Puyo.
So would I need an initial hardmod to install Fake News, and then no hardmods after that?
Is there any reason to stay on 1.0.0 if 3.0.0 has an easier way of installing CFW? Would I lose anything going from 1.0.0 to 3.0.0?
