Personally I'm gonna play my backups on sysnand while offline. Once backups become possible within emunand I'm gonna backup my saves with homebrew then format my system entirely to erase all evidence of hacking on sysnand. Then I'll create emunand and I'll do all my game backups there as well as homebrew while being offline. I'll even go as far as buying a used game just to use it for system updates then return it to the store to make sure newer games are compatible while never connecting to the internet ever.

This would ultimately give me the ability to play games online on sysnand using legit cartridges. So it's the best of both worlds without having to buy a whole new system just for online play. I just hope that sysnand and emunand aren't linked together and you can unlink the two like on Wiiu.

The main thing would be emunand which will allow u to "update" to the latest firmware to play the newest games and get online with them maybe. But as far as making backups of your games and playing them..that won't come with the CFW. Someone will have to fork the CFW and add it to it that way. So in the long run not many people will stick with what everyone is waiting for.
Hey I just wanted to double check since I've been a little away from the scene. Would xecuter allow the playing of backups?

Kernel patching, a stable CFW, working sleep mode, stable lakka3d, retroarch, and other emulators. Also hoping for android emulator so I can play Dragon Nest and PUBG in my switch.

didnt the makers of PUBG shit on the nintendo switch while Fortnite decided to port a long tine ago before they were popular? look what happened now

We have been stating it the whole thread. To keep an updated emunand and an old sysnand.
but to update emunand you'd have to go online and we keep getting told not to go online so how would one update emunand? unless theres a way to have a preupdated emunand that hasnt touched the internet or some way to update emunand via our pc's

Or you use the firmware updates that are on game cartridges

Will emunand be able to load another CFW ? Like SX FW ?
something like this was asked in another thread and the response to it was theres no reason to run a CFW on top of another one, the whole deal is when atmosphere comes out you'll get basically everything that SX gives you (this includes the ability to run backups we just need something to run the backups with as far as applications go) and maybe even then some

Then you don't need emunand if you can go online on your sysnand as that's basically the purpose of it.
Think of someone on version 1 for instance. They can't go online to purchase new games or play newer games for that matter. They need/require emunand to do that which has the potential risk of banning their console.
I really do not get why people want keep their sysnand at a certain version and want use emunand for the legal stuff.

Wouldn't it be better to boot the whole cfw from sd card, because you then could do with it whatever you want besides going online and it woudn't matter how many fuses the sysnand fw has burnt, because the cfw doesn't care about them.

So if you want homebrew, emulators or whatever you boot from sd and if you want to play your legal stuff or use the online services you remove the sd card and boot into the sysnand fw.

What does it matter then? You can keep all that "backup loading" things in a offline environment on sysnand as well. I cannot see the benefits that a emunand has in this matter.

Right now it's possibly there is no problem. But it's certainly possible for a current or future firmware to track that you are loading a backup and store it for when you go online. If you're on emunand it's stored on your sd card and you never go online, when you drop back to sysnand there is no record of your activity in emunand.

It's possible that this detection could be hidden inside the firmware or inside games, it might just be a single bit stored in a save file. Bans might then happen months later, the likelihood is that nobody will have reverse engineered every game or firmware to look for it.

i mentioned backup loaders
but im more concerned as to why your posts have everyones ips shown to them at the bottom of your posts, its pretty creepy
Lol, it's just your IP shown to yourself. I don't know your IP. It's a fun little thing that you can embed in signatures and other places. Check out danasoft.com.

32gb of wasted space and for what exactly?
Would it really be wasted if you can still keep games in the emunand?
