As long it is formatted exfat it will work, I wouldnt even recommend it, it will take like a whole day to transfer like 40GB of data to the PS4 through Package installer, since SD card speed is slow compare to HDD via USB 3.0 port.

Cheers, I'll test with some small indie games and see if it'll do until I can get a usb stick.

Try something that is small size through, it is a hassle to upload to SD card and install the pkg if it not fake pkg.

I would recommend either upgrading your Internal HDD or buying a small Size HDD or SSD or USB 3.0 thumb drive, to transfer game around using the USB 3 Port , for enclosure some USB C 3.0 Enclosure would work.

Thanks, I'll see if i can find a spare old drive. Will probably need a new enclosure for usb3.

Extra noob question: how are updates used? Just like installing a game? It auto downloaded some updates but then it wouldn't install them.

Not sure if the update blocker get rid of the update nag, technically you can FTP into the PS4 and delete the update.
