Is there anyone who is interested in 3DS 'Dead or Alive Dimensions' Hack?
It has been ignored so far!:cry:
Currently possible cases:
Rewriting of some 2D graphics
Costume swap (file name change)
costume_swap1.png costume_swap2.png
Changing the costume texture (using Kukkii)
texture_hack.png
Subtitle change (UTF-8 encode)

known issue:
Replacing something model of textures damaged.
buggy_1.png buggy_2.png buggy_3.png
I'd like to hack the model,
Currently some bcmdl can not be referenced in SPICA.
Only the SPICA can refer to bcmdl of DOAD.
And I know that SPICA is mainly a tool for Pokemon or Mario, but ...
I would like to modify FACE rigs and costumes.

Next up, Bakunyuu mod?
In order to create Bakunyuu mod, it need to convert the model.

However...
Ohana3DSRebirth.png I could not refer to even using "Ohana3DSRebirth"
Ohana3DSRebirth_hacky_version.png could not refer to even using "Ohana3DSRebirth hacky version"
SPICA.png SPICA, too. but no error was displayed.
SPICA_save_as_bch_and_reload.png Then, save as BCH. reload the BCH file. The model was displayed! but, the vertices is somewhat strange.
SPICA_save_as_bch_and_reload_and_save_as_dae.png I tried save as DAE, however "EndOfStreamException" error occurred...:O
What should I do to ask the SPICA author?

Hello pori.

I am also very much interested in modding DOAD but so far it has proven problematic.
What I intend to do is; Get a .CIA file, extract it, modify its content, and recompile as a .CIA file.
Then convert it into a .3DS file so that I can use it on the Citra Emulator.

However, I have managed to extract the .CIA version of the game, and recompilation seems to work also.
But I had to install the "SetupUS.exe" from version11 instead of version12 + ucrtbased.dll file.

I then had to decrypt the new (recompiled) .CIA using "GodMode9" on the custom firmware on my 3DS.

Once decrypted and transferred back on my computer, I then convert the recompiled .CIA file to .3DS using;
"3DS To CIA Converter.bat"

The resulting .3DS file seems to run on the Citra Emulator just fine. I have tried editing some text from DOAD
as a test and it seems to be working so far. The next step is to try to edit textures.

I believe you cannot get the cloth transparent by leaving the texture area transparent.
Transparency in games are the product of shaders. The clothing shader certainly does
not seem to have any transparency, therefore it will always be blank instead.

Perhaps trying to copy a shader from the hair, renaming it like your cloth shader and
replacing it with your transparent cloth texture might do the trick.
 
Kuriimu toolset has been getting updates, have you tried the latest version?

As far as texture modding is concerned I still need to test it out. I don't even know yet which tools to use.
I don't know what Kuriimu toolset does, but if I can convert texture files into png, I can use Photoshop.
Unless Kuriimu proves vital for texture formats?

Kukkii takes care of textures.

I am familiarizing myself with this new program. I imaging all I have to do is open texture files,
export in png, make my edits, import in place of the previous images in Kukkii, and simply save
in order to replace the texture files?

I have compiled a new build and everything works like a charm. I am truly grateful for your help.
Do you happen to know tools for changing models, shaders, music or even scripts within the
extracted data, by any chance?

Bakunyuu means a super-sized breasts mode? I'm afraid it isn't possible to modify meshes,
as far as I have seen. I tried Ohana3DS but models don't appear in it. Therefore it proves
impossible to change the actual models, even though I would greatly appreciate to do so.

If you can find a way or someone to extract the models and re-importing them into the
game, creating your Bakunyuu mod should not be too complicated.
