Hacking Xecuter SX FAQ - Finally!

Thanks for this post i am pretty blow. Away xci files working wow just wow so sd card format to exfat?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I've bought some from amazon before. I've had good and bad experiences. But either way, you're not finding a 256+ card for under 90 bucks unless it's refurbished but it'll still be significantly more than "50ish". Fatsquirrel is full of shit.

Mine cost under 90 will post link later not sure if price went up

That's like saying I cut my pizza into squares instead of triangles so I guess since I do that I can go steal some pizza.

The DMCA doesn't cover pizza, only bypassing copyright controls (which this product will do).

well they can't patch rcm mode, but maybe they have a trick they can pull off. Nobody really knows.

The bootrom can't be changed because they put protection in to stop you changing the bootrom.

Those cards were on a special sale and they aren't top of the line either. I also bought a 128GB for like $30~ during that sale, but that isn't their price all of the time.

Special sale due to them finding the cards were fake???

Assuming you can undo whatever they did of course, and the risk of modifying it in the first place. Plus, it makes your console a lot easier to be detected.

It would be worrying if they can't redirect reads.

I'm virtually only interested in their microcontroller USB device. I will be placing a bounty on reverse engineering it and creating a tool to place different payloads on the thing. Whether you're on board for whatever TX's MO is, you have to admit they have the best delivery system with the automated payload delivery.

Semi tethered.. Not surprising. Hopefully nobody refers to it as a cold boot..

No homebrew... Guess I'm passing just for that notion alone. Seriously.. Won't refute the fact I pirate, but I have too many bought games here..

The license thing still makes little sense. So they're activating it from the console?
Surprised they aren't just stealing the current homebrew stuff just to say it is homebrew enabled...Maybe the are making their own version of HBL..Doubt it. But who know.

It's still portable and doesn't require fussing around with another device (actual "tethering" (look up the word) and launching programs).

It DOES need "fussing around witch another device".
It needs the dongle on every boot. Only the jig is won't be required.

Before trying to educate someone else, you should read by yourself.

I know what tethering means!
I'm using my mobilephone to inject payloads. That's portable too.
But still TETHERED.

Tethering, by definition involves a rope or a cable in the middle of two devices. Sure, you can use a cellphone and that is pretty portable, but that requires the JIG and messing around with apps to get the Switch booted correctly. I rather just plug something in and go. Much more easier and convenient. I don't understand why people are complaining about the use of a Dongle when the use of another device is much more involved and takes more time. Either way you have to have a device plugged into your Switch.

Tethering means a physical connection between device. Is doesn't matter if plugged directly or by cable.

Even while using a smartphone, the jig wont be needed. AutoRCM is available through XS OS.

I know what you think tethering means, but if you look up the word you'll realize your using it wrongly in this situation. I didn't realize that you want to run the XS OS via cellphone as I thought you were talking about free alternatives. My bad. Cellphones are portable, but I rather not have to fuss with my phone to get the OS up and running.

I agree, it's a pity nobody else is making something cheap. The dongle is only $10 when bought with the software, but for people who don't want that software then the hardware is annoyingly attractive at an unattractive price.

You need a device for now, the future might be different. I think people are worried that they'll buy one of these and the next day there will be a hardware less option. If hekate could fix their sleep issue then the inconvenience would be reduced a lot.

Hey!
  • Q: Can we play eshop games?
    A:
The current version of SX OS only allows to play cartridge based games. But we're working hard to bring game titles that originate from different distribution media to SX OS as well! It is on our list of features to add in upcoming updates.

For me who doesn't own a switch, what does this mean?
Can I only play games that have been released as a cartridge? So no indie games that is available for download? No DLC ? This is pretty bad imo

Anyone know how much space the OS will take up on an SD card? I remember reading Atmosphere requires at least 32gb

About DLCs / Updates etc.

Technically, we can just patch them into the XCI Files :)
How?

And people I am a pirate and I am proud of being it, for the people mostly that feel mad at us, don't buy sx, nintendo will send you an email with sad faces

I have been laughing for all the post of the 3 hijackers for each page is a story

TX way if it's like their previous products won't be cracked easily, they are not amateurs in this field
