Not quite sure I understand the disdain for this thread. There is a confirmed solder version of Team Xecuter's Switch modchip so these services will be needed in the future. $30-$50 is a great price compared to other places even though it doesn't include return shipping. The thread was a bit preemptive sure but now that we have a bit more information the thread should be fine in terms of the rules for now. The mods may ask you to move the thread to the trading forum once you actually start doing the installs. (I'm sure you're aware of that however. Keeps it cleaner, allows for feedback to be given in the feedback section, etc.)

Despite there being a solderless version I'll still be going the soldered route. I've had enough headaches with the E3 NOR clip and that was in a stationary console.

The problem is really the number of defective switches out there... I'm sure I can open the console without losing warranty, now using the solder version will need a really good job to disguise it and still have warranty.

My friends switch was making a huge high pitch sound from the speakers after like the 3rd day, he paid 70eur for the Zelda online and ended up returning the defective console to the store and bought a Sony PsVR instead LOL, now he has no console and no Zelda that he paid

I'm glad this got bumped. Now I know who I can use if I need help with a future modchip. Of course I would wait for others to do it first. I'm hoping that eventually I'll be able to turn on my switch and be where I want to be, do what I want to do, without adapters.

Besides for the fact that it sucks. It's not a "solderless version" it's an external dongle that uploads a payload. There is a modchip coming. People incapable of doing it themselves will need someone to install it for them.

inconvenience would be having someone solder your switch with an internal modchip and they accidentally fuck up, the dongle they showed isnt really inconvenient cause most people already either have a jig or use a paperclip to begin with. on top of this i dont think the dongle is going to be expensive at all (unless they've already announced the prices and whatnot and i havent seen it) so unless this man can solder it correctly for much less than the chip costs theres no real reason

I honestly think that when they factor in Atmosphere, the full access Fusee Gelee has and the very real reality that a boot strap is coming for Atmosphere, they wouldn't make 2 dimes to rub against eachother.

Well I think it's pretty good actually until something permanent gets released...

Their RCM jig 4 example look light years ahead any crap 3d printed being sold out there and some even sell them for almost 1\4 of the whole TX device + their higher quality jig...

Also one other thing is that includes their private software and running games the day it gets to anyone's hands...

If we could run custom payloads on their device it would be a nice thing to even run atmosphere on-the-go until they get a way to make it permanent 4 all FW...


Also their device is not just a pen drive... Probably it could be done from devices like CronusMax or titan, but would also require a CFW in them, they have CPU, ram and can run code...

Well actually I'm more interested in seeing extra features my self...

If the soldering chip has memory or a M-SD port for emunand I buy it right away, else I'd rather buy the solderless or use atmosphere with my phone sending the payload...

I do not support such Products. I hope a lot of People buy this crap and get really pissed when Atmosphere comes out a week later for free with double the Features.
