Hacking [RELEASE] CUSA DETECTOR BETA - data required!

CUSA DETECTOR is a (windows only) app I threw together to help quickly identify games with BASE versions <=4.55. It is also part of a larger toolbox I have been working on, but I have separated it out as a standalone app for simple testing. The method I am using is pretty accurate: I think, but I need to be sure. I have referenced octolus, orbismodding, sceparty, and psdevwiki for my current method.

Simply enter the NP TITLE ID of the DISC or PKG you have and get a result instantly. RED for not 4.55 compatible, GREEN for 4.55 compatible.

This app originally took <10 mins to devise and set up, so I expect there to be a lot of exceptions and bugs, hence why I need testers.

GAME NAME / CUSAXXXXX / FW VERSION (or <> 4.55)

Not yet, I need people to report anomalies here directly, I use a quick method/algo based on having extensively read up on various sites to make it semi accurate.

I do want to have an external database, but right now TBH the code is minuscule.

I have had next to no response but had heaps of questions like "is there a way to find out what games are 4.55?"..

I don't have many self ripped games sadly, the ones I have I gave over

The others I have were acquired from other sources and are pretty much common knowledge now

It would be nice to see some people contributing to this project and helping out some

I have 1 disc game (GTA V) but I have been hunting out titles based on release date vs CUSA and have manually added the oddities.

I genuinely thought people would love the chance to contribute to something useful. Communal knowledge is communal power afterall. It could solve so many questions, but perhaps this is not the right forum/site for this project.

I had a huge response on a spanish hacking facebook page, and words of support: but ZERO results fed back to me... oh well.

I will spread the word to other sites and see if we get some more results.

Tweeted it out and tried to make a post over at psxh*x but it kept erroring out, so posted in their pkg request section.

The more input the merrier imho, I just hope other sites will back this.

heres some games i am waiting for that i thought were not done due to higher firmware being needed but there are 4.55 compatible versions according to results from this tool.

see GT sport is an anomaly, I have several CUSA numbers for it, this game is NOT 4.55, its closer to 4.7x iirc. So thank you: I will add it.

As for payback, again I believe its >4.55 however I need confirmation of what FW its requires, im sure it came out after the april 2017 threshold.

DO NOT TAKE THE RESULTS AS 100% CORRECT IT IS A BETA AND THIS IS EXACTLY WHY IT NEEDS DATA.

I thought they required higher firmware?

Tool works flawlessly for my games (<= 4.55 and >4.55). However maybe in the future it could display minimal FW requirements for >4.55 games (for example: for GT Sport it could be 4.7X...). Thanks @KiiWii !

Thanks for testing! Thats great to hear, I know its about 90% correct.

If people can supply me the ID and the actual FW required I could do that.

EDIT:

Ok have added these games as exceptions to my personal DB, (will scour the net for alt CUSA versions of each title, and try get min FW for them) then will push a new version once I have had a few more reports.

Note every other ID is above the 08XXX range, so they would easily auto flag in my app to be >4.55 aka RED result, yet ONE version (somehow) falls way underneath and escapes into the wrong category.

EDIT 3:

Through scouring the net I have found and added a fair few exceptions myself, the only data I cant get is that for MIN FW required.....

CUSA DETECTOR UPDATED TO V3:

I spent a few hrs this morning trawling for games/release dates/cusa varients and have pushed this update.

Added new messages + fixed typos.
Updated exceptions to include heaps more exceptions (thanks @peteruk, @hycraig @godreborn)
Updated exception descriptions.

I would like to add min fw required info too but that requires way more testing and contributing

is there a "update" finder like the ps3 days from aldos? you could put in game id and it would list updates with links .. is there anything like that out there? i have all my dumps still and would be easy to install updates and redux my dumps.
if not maybe a request to app.?. ill give it a whirl,

There are heaps of places to get updates, however they dont date back far enough to all be useful.

Sceparty, orbismodding, octolus, and psdevwiki all have various non fakesigned links, but theyre mostly >4.55 as they only host the latest updates, or only been archived since recently.

I asked over at octolus and they said it wasnt possible to easily find older links.

There are several other sites who host fake signed updates (cannot link here) but the selection is very small as it relys on who ever uploaded them to have had the physical disc of the game that they updated while they dumped just the patch.

You cannot update a dump with a non fake signed update pkg, you could only update a dump with an already fake signed update pkg.
