A while back ago, after a Nintendo Switch update was datamined, a new "a" folder was discovered, which has lead to the possibility of a Switch 2. under development in Nintendo's secret underground lab. But do we really need a Switch 2? Just the thought of a New Nintendo Switch XL is making us all cringe deep inside. Why would Nintendo even think about releasing a new model of one of their most successful systems of all time, after just 1 year. It just doesn't make sense. So here's the question: If Nintendo were to make a new model of the Switch, what would it be like? Would it be bigger, smaller, a different color, faster, with a camera, better quality, more space, or really just any improvement whatsoever? Nintendo could take the handheld path, and release larger and/or smaller sizes of the system and with different themes, like the New Nintendo 2DS XL Or Nintendo could take the console path, and release a premium version of the Switch, like the Xbox One X/S or PS4 Pro as pretty much anyone would classify Nintendo's latest console as "budget", the overall cheap feeling of the system. Personally, I predict Nintendo will release a Switch Pro, something better than the pack but nothing too different, following the lead of their two biggest competitors. But what do you all think?

Well almost certainly a new model will appear, I don't think it's just now... They will probably use the same SOC in a smaller size for either improved battery life or increasing specially CPU clocks 4 better performance before releasing an actual true hardware upgrade.

The 20nm on the Nvidia is quite outdated in comparison to nowadays standard which are around 10nm and going lower, Nintendo had to sacrifice clocks to around half of the actual chip...

SciresM said it's gonna most likely be a stealth revamp with no obvious external difference - but inside ninty had swapped out the vulnerable tegra for a more secure chip.

This early in the switch's release window I would say I have to agree. No way we get a revision this early on.

We may get the rumored security revisions but I wouldn't bet on some "Switch Pro" or "Switch XL" - Nintendo considers this a home console, and none of Nintendo's home consoles have received an enhanced version or something along those lines.

We have gotten two dumbed down versions though. Albeit very very late into the console's life cycle.

NES-101 and Wii mini.

I remember seeing somewhere that Ninty said they were going to keep supporting the current switch, and weren't planning on making a new one any time soon. I don't have a link tho, so I could be completely wrong

They ended up doing both a "Pro" and "XL" for the 3DS, so if they were going to release another one, could be both. Not sure if that's going be this year tho.

As for something like a camera, they might do that, but it would probably be better to saved that for the Switch 2.

i voted for "nothing" i don't think N will put out a pro (because they are cheap) or an xl (because the switches we have now are already XL).

i think you should have added a "Switch Mini" that would have gotten my vote.
