Hi, I'm new here and to everything related to homebrews and english is not my native language so sorry if I get anything wrong on the description of my problem.
I was following a tutorial made by a guy on youtube Dark Flare, first I installed soundhax and homebrew then I downgraded my 3ds to 2.1.0 but then when i tried to install FBI like in his video I got stuck on the reboot.ms part so I look a bit into it and found out that apparently rxTools didn't support firmware 2.1, so i tried to update my console back to the newest version but it gave a update error every time I tried, so instead of downloading a update i decided to use my cartridge to update my console then i got a black screen. I alredy tried to hold R+L+UP+A but it didn't work.
Again sorry if i get anything wrong and any help would be appreciated.

You might want to put the safeboot9strapinstaller.bin as your arm9loaderhax.bin. Then it will automatically be loaded instead of rxtools/luma.

Most likely you did this on a n3ds; then you bricked. Downgrading to 2.1.0 makes the firmware think it is installed on a o3ds and when you upgrade with a card again it will brick because the wrong firmware is loaded.

To restore the console you need to use ntrboothax and a compatible flashcard.

Something's going on because people have been popping up recently with old resurrected guides like zombies.
You are not only the third person in a row to try this but also the third person to try the same improvisation - updating while on 2.1 when you got in trouble.
Even for their time, these guides needed to very clearly state that the 2.1 downgrade done in this process IS NOT THE SAME AS A LEGITIMATE FIRMWARE INSTALL and cannot be expected to work like one! It is there for only a few very specific set of tasks in the guide and not for updating or casually playing games on.
If there is some broader "thing" going on, like a closed group which suddenly decided they wanna hack their 3DS and started forwarding this guide in closed circles - I advise you to tell them to stop and link to the 3DS guide instead.

Having gone that far, if you could have gone as far as to get the 2xrsa browser exploit working, you could have launched a payload for installing A9LH and then booting a .bin with it to install B9S. It's weird that you bricked because usually 2.1 update results in frankenfirm and still has a working recovery mode.

I think the reason that newbies like me end up following old guides is because they are in video, it's easier to trust the guide when the guy is showing the steps one by one in his own 3ds and now i know that 3ds.guide is better but i learned in the hard way.

Are you sure you set up ntrboothax correctly?
Did you use a compatible flashcard?
You must set up your flashcard correctly and flash a custom rom image onto it. For this you need a 2nd 3ds/nds to flash the rom image because your 3ds doesn't boot.
Recheck every step on 3ds.guide . If it still doesn't boot then it is due to hardware error. Ntrboothax is able to unbrick any device in any state unless it is a hardware fault (nand corruption for example) which would explain why it black screened after update in the first place.

I'll make sure to go around like a madman and spam warnings in all caps in their comments section. Lol.

Black screen? Simple..take off the battery and put it back in. After that, turn it on, and it should work. If it doesn't work....well yeah nothing that i know more about the black screen of death.
