If one version can be ported, any of them can. It's just a matter of installing and removing packages over the base OS, really, until you get the version you want. (Yes, it's helpful to just be able to START with the version you want, but sometimes the given hardware makes you work a bit for that)I'd rather see android tv ported to the switch, better for media playback. The nvidia shield tv iso would be a good starting place.

LOL...i am a bit confused here, why someone wants to install android on the switch? there is already nvidia tablet
or other android with controller attached to it.
thanks for the answer, but keep in mind, even if you made the switch install android, there is driver issues.LOL...
1- Nvidia shield tablet is not being sold anymore neither updated... Maybe they are going to make a new one, no idea its not supported anymore...
2- the chinese tablets with controllers are very slow performers and nothing in comparison to Switch hardware.
3- Theres an actual kinda Switch copy that even came before it with android, 3D screen, similar controllers that fit on the sides like the joy-cons or can be used separated, HOWEVER it also cost 300€ when it came out and no match for Switch and with only 2GB of ram + it won't run Switch top of the line handheld games either...

4- Tablets are super expensive, my friend paid 200€ for his Asus and was a crap chinese mediatek quad core 1.3 or 1.4ghz can't remember which one with 720p screen 8 inches and 2GB of ram, it can't play heavy android games, just low graphic games, it scores A LOT LOWER than my 2014 Sony Xperia Z2 in 3D marks that I bought used...
5- Imagine dual boot, you are in a bar, want just entertainment not games, you boot up your switch, if you want to play the top of the line games you boot Switch CFW, that would be epic...

Only if nobody works on the drivers. The Shield TV has drivers baked into it for the SoC, and custom drivers could be either written or found for wifi, bluetooth, and storage management based on the parts includedthanks for the answer, but keep in mind, even if you made the switch install android, there is driver issues.

Offcourse there is, but after some time more and more devs will understand more about the switch hardware, joy-con drivers are already out there for PC 4 example... They can probably rip Nvidia Shield Kernell+Rom and modify them and maybe someone could actually make the needed drivers to add and also remove all the not needed stuff from android rom+kernel.thanks for the answer, but keep in mind, even if you made the switch install android, there is driver issues.

ps: For now its not gonna work, but in time after CFW I'm thinking they will first give a Switch Linux and then maybe android?...

Because what is Android but Linux for ARM devices, really?Makes sense, with linux comes android. Usually.

You seem like a knowledgeable guy. If it's so easy, please install or remove packages on my HTC Dream G1 and make it into Oreo. It's just a matter of installing the right packages, right? And the drivers you can just Google and copy paste them, right? If one version can be ported, any of them can. With that logic I could run my SNES classic on my switchMakes sense, with linux comes android. Usually.
"Android is a mobile operating system developed by Google, based on a modified version of the Linux kernel and other open source software and designed primarily for touchscreen mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets." - WikipediaAlso, Android != Linux, Android is based off Linux, but it's not Linux. The only thing they have in common is the underlying kernel, but everything else on top of the kernel is completely different. It's the same reason you can't run Android apps on Linux distributions, and you can't run Linux stuff on Android. Also even though they share a common kernel, the kernels are heavily customized to the point that they're specific to that configuration of hardware.
Android drivers aren't packages (apps), while the TV Launcher is just an appYou seem like a knowledgeable guy. "Can" yeah, but "will" ?They can probably rip Nvidia Shield Kernell+Rom and modify them and maybe someone could actually make the needed drivers to add
In the good days of Android (2.x) it was so modified to the point of incompatibility you could only really call it Linux to avoid plagiarism, now it's improved (a lot of the patches have been mainlined) but key parts are different from your typical PC Linux distro's kernel (yes, even for android-x86a modified version of the Linux kernel
Yeah, reread that to yourself a couple of times until you get it. Based on a modified version of the Linux kernel, which is exactly what I wrote, that isit based off the Linux kernel, but it's not Linux. DumbassWith that logic I could run my SNES classic on my switch

I was backing up your claim... dumbassYeah, reread that to yourself a couple of times until you get it. Based on a modified version of the Linux kernel, which is exactly what I wrote, that isit based off the Linux kernel, but it's not Linux. Dumbass
Hahaha, I only read page 1 and an just adding fuel into this fire. For the glory of Satan.I was backing up your claim... dumbass

Yeah context doesn't translate well over the internet.I only read this page.
Also, if you mis-understood my post from the bold text, that was just how it was when I googled it.
