Hello, I have problem with Medicat, I want to make a multitool pendrive with Medicat and few other OS. I'm use to this YUMI, all process with unpacking Medicat on pendrive go good, but when Im boot this pendrive and load Mini Windows 10, all applications seems corrupted and can't load. When I'm making pendrive with Rufus, all works good.

What I'm doing wrong?

Same here,
I noticed that all the App inside Win10 point to an Y:\ partition, but there is not Y:\ partition loaded, so all the programs shortlink do not work.
Also Malwerebytes do not work and also Lubuntu do not start.

Yumi added in last version official support for Medicat, so i think it is a Yumi bug, because with Rufus all work, probably also with Etcher it work but i do not tested it already.

@Jayro
Should you contact directly Yumi programmers, it is very usefull have Yumi official support for Medicat

I am having a similar issue with this iso in question. When using any version rufus I get rufus has encountered an extraction error. This is using your instructions. When using YUMI bootloader I can get it to write to the system however cdusb.y isn't placed in the correct path or file location for mini win 10. I believe there is an error with the extraction of the files in this ISO as this happens in multiple tools. I would like to also know if this could be an issue with the size of drive im using as it is 64GB or 128GB and both fail to run Mini Win 10 as they say they can't locate cdusb.y and that the media is busy. This was an issue in TH2 and REDSTONE first editions of Gandalf PE which I used and was later fixed in the patch for REDSTONE 2 and 3. If you have any information as to how I can get the full suite to work seamlessly feel free to message me on here or leave me an email. Thanks I look forward to testing this.

So I have fixed the issue as it was an issue with the drive I was using. Also note, YUMI boot loader doesnt work with mini win 10 PE as the cd.y file isnt written to the root directory of the device this will need to be redone and that part will need to be self extracted or set as a bootable under WinPE -bootmgr I believe. Another issue I have noticed is that malwarebytes doesnt update , and the versions of AV you have are very out of date or not working correctly, this is similar to the issues with Gandalfs new redstone 3 release which is broken. The R2 release I believe still is working fine to update malwarebytes.

About a month ago I had the same issue on a few different customers' computers. On two of them, no recent restore points would work but the oldest one available did work. Coincidentally (or not?), on both of these computers, the restore point from Feb 9th worked. On the third computer, no restore points would work, I had to manually uninstall the update causing the issue. Can't post hyperlinks, change the *'s to .'s and see here: support*microsoft*com/en-us/help/4091240/usb-devices-may-stop-working-after-installing-the-february-13-2018-upd

Fantastic looking list of tools, unfortunately I've tried adding this to my "Recovery Suite" USB. I've used multibootusb to add all my favourite recovery isos to a single USB which is amazing, however when I've added MediCat if fails to boot.

When I select it from my boot menu it throws the following error:
-----
Booting 4MParted:
Booting 4MParted:

menu.c32: not a COM32R image
boot:
-----

How can I get this thing running?

Thanks.

Hi, I'm having a problem with mini Win 10. When I selected it to boot, loads files and then send me an error 0xc0000225, "Windows failer to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause.". The thing is the pc i used is the one i use many times to test HDD's and i already used Medicat and no problems. Why now i got this error message?

Maybe try it in UEFI mode, it should work then.

Now this might have been asked before, but the search feature did not come up with anything.
How compressed are the contents of those .iso files and would they still benefit from something like LZMA2?
I will definitely try this out but the 11GB filesize without an archive format has me wondering. Would this simply not work with an archiver or do you have another reason to offer the tool as plain iso?
Thanks a bunch for an updated alternative for hiren's either way. ^_^

I have tried 7zipping the ISO into chunks of 1GB, but there's always some kind of corruption in the uploads, so I stopped zipping them.

Hi!, i tried to "burn" Medicat Legacy (04/23/2016) into a USB (NTFS) using latest version of Yumi 2.0.5.4 (i used the new Medicat entry), Lubuntu and other programs works, but Mini Windows 10 and all Windows Recovery don't, so my guess is that the new "Medicat entry" works only with the latest version of Medicat (but i didn't try with the latest version)...so my question is: should i use Unlisted ISO (Syslinux) or Unlisted ISO (Grub) for the old legacy version?, i ask because i have only a 2.0 USB port and a slow CPU and takes up to 2 hours to install it. (i know that Rufus works perfectly, but i want to use the multiboot feature), sorry for my bad english .

EDIT: Unlisted ISO (Syslinux): it's the same as "Medicat Entry" on Yumi, it boot correctly on 3 out of 3 Pc's , but mini Windows 10 and Windows Recovery doesn't work.
Unlisted ISO (GRUB): Mini Windows 10 works (except for the portable apps ) and Windows Recovery works too, but Lubuntu it's the one that doesn't work this time...and doesn't boot on all Pc, in my case 2 out of 3 Pc's, the error in the one that doesn't boot is : "booting find /menu.lst /boot/grub/menu.lst /grub/menu.lst"

Thank you for the tip, but i don't know extactly how to do it, i have to use first Ultra ISO to extract boot.wim (from medicat.iso), than modify it with NLITE, and then use again Ultra ISO to recreate the new Medicat ISO with the modified boot.wim?
