have you watched the video yet?
he said liquid metal thermal paste on phone will put your phone in risk of gettting short circuit, since phone always moving around. It's not worth to do unless you are aiming for benchmark only.
switch is even vertical in docking all the time, paste may leak out through the time and cause short circuit.

I agree 100%. I also believe if anything happens to "tomcoleman's cold consoles" (your welcome), there is NO WAY in hell he'll come back here and tell us about it.

I have two myself. I received the analogue super nt today even though I already own a 1chip and the first snes model and usually emulate games anyways. I have two ps3's yadda yadda yadda. I have money myself and I applaude your enthusiasm "for science" and I would love to see you say that with a Tom Cruise grin as the switch explodes in your face BUT

the switch isn't cheap. That's a retarded statement.

switch is the only console i own now.

its cheap in comparison to my £4k PC and cheap in comparison to the other consoles on the market.

HotUK deals showing switch for £217 new. Ive seen them on gumtree for less also. So in RELATION its cheap.

besides in another few months the price will drop and it will make everything else drop as the console wars heat up for summer.

Calling me a retard is unfair to others on this forum who may be impaired in some way.

We'll agree to disagree. I hope it works out for you because I love to mod stuff myself.

super cooled
i don't get it , you missed a few pics here
so before you applied the liquid metal how was the paste applied?
does that piece of foil go on top of the die directly or is there paste on top of the die and then the foil and then more pate and then the heat pipe?

and when you did the metal paste did you take the copper foil out and not put i back? or do you put the metal past on the die then replace the copper foil and more metal paste and then the heat pipe?
or are you just using the die metalpaste and taking out the copper foil and replacing the heat pipe without the foil?

Nintendo actually just globs the paste on there. It’s also very cheap paste that only costs like $1 for a 12oz bottle. I replaced mine with arctic silver and the system doesn’t get nearly as hot as it did before the paste swap

yeah but i am asking about the copper foil i see in the pics that there is paste on top of the copper foil between the copper foil and the heat pipe
but do they put paste on top of the die , between the top of the die and the copper foil too? or do they just stick the copper foil to the top of the die with no paste? because it is not shown what is under the copper foil in the pics
and he shows the liquid metal paste directly on top of the die but then does not show any other pics, like if he put the liquid metal paste on top of the die and then put the heat pipe back without using the copper foil of if he put the foil back and put more paste on top of the foil or if he put it hack and put the die on top of the foil with no paste
also what is in that shit anyways ,does it contain mercury? is it toxic?

A side-by side comparison showing a noticeable difference in framerate would convince me to buy some liquid metal thermal paste and install it into my Switch. CFW might be able to increase the CPU clock speed to improve framerates in games.

So if Nintendo didn't buy the cheapest shit you can find then there would be fewer instances of the Switch casing warping.

There isn't a difference in framerate but drops happen less because the cpu isn't downclocking to remain at 60 max. They don't know for sure if it had to do with that but they noticed a difference when repasting

That video is from the release of the switch when Zelda wasn't optimized at all and framerate dropped all over the place.

No it is not, the video is a month older then release and the video is after the patch got released wich came out less then 2 weeks !!! Plus even if it was wich it ISN'T doesn't have anything to do with FPS drops due to thermals. What you're saying doesn't make sense because if a patch was the only thing that fixed it then changing thermal paste like they did in the video shouldn't have fixed it since it would be software related and changing paste wouldn't have changed shit but ey it did

Contrary to PCs and ~some~ consoles, Switch games are made in a way that the console doesn't get hot to the point it turns itself off (unless you play BotW for 20 hours straight in handheld mode), so there's no need to apply liquid metal on it's processor.

No, but people are noticing the Switch getting warmer than needed, and that can be explained by tacky thermal paste manufactures think is okay to use. Besides that, when CFW comes out, we're going to have people pushing the Switch via clocking and they're gonna need all the thermal room they can get. Replacing the paste is just one easy way to do this.
