Hacker Qwertyoruiop just dropped the full code for a 4.55 PS4 Kernel exploit. There’s a tiny catch (see below), but this is probably the best piece of news in a long time for people who couldn’t get on the 4.05 gravy train so far.
Please note that as a 4.05 owner, and given that this is not a fully operational implementation at this point, I have not tested this yet. Qwertyoruiop’s reputation on the PS4 scene and other devices is however enough at this point to confirm this is the real thing.
The kernel exploit works up to firmware 4.55 included, however the kernel exploit needs a usermode entry point. In the hacker’s current release, that entry point is the Webkit exploit he released for firmware 4.07 a while ago.
In other words: The kernel exploit technically works up to 4.55 included, but the associated user exploit is compatible only up to 4.07 for now, so people on firmwares 4.06 and 4.07 should be able to enjoy this release pretty quickly, while 4.50 and 4.55 owners will have to wait until another usermode exploit is released. Which could happen fast.
