This release is messy, doesnt work half of the time, has no documentation - doesnt come with proof of concept.. Doesnt work.

Harsh words, let me explain.

First time I just used the provided compiled .nro and went through the steps, the HBL launched - everything seemed fine.

- Then I got inconsistent behavior on the run step. Sometimes the HBL would launch afterwards, sometimes not (Album launched normally). Sometimes the Switch would crash.
- This would happen after a reboot as well.
- Trying to "reinstall" the hack would sometimes work (1337), sometimes not (different error message) - after that I would sometimes be able to launch HBL, sometimes not.
- Trying to put .nro's in a folder called switch in root - wouldnt make them show up. Reinstalling the hack, and rerunning it would not make them show up either.
- Trying the same with a folder called /switch (why the / for gods sake?) wouldnt work either.
- When install worked, there is a Mii data corrupted and deleted message upon relaunch, thats not mentioned anywhere - right now, so much for documentation.

- There is no documentation what the install step does.
- There is no documentation what the run step does.
- There isnt even a proof of concept .nro bundled with the release, so guess what the first step of everyone that installed the HBL will be eventually (look on the net for any .nro to launch)
- libtransistor (emulators) support is "being resolved" *slowclap*

SD Card used was a Sasmsung 32gb, freshly formated to FAT32.

Happy monday.
if you don't like it then don't use it. it's simple:)

And if after 10 pages of fluff and 100 gloating reputation tweets, you want your first actual educated "in the field" report, from someone that got it to work 30% of the time, somewhat - read my posting.

I didnt exactly get the memo, that gbatemp was now "fluff and dont say anything about the real usage experience".

You can still celebrate plutoo, if thats all you are mainly interested in - but to even think that this *thing* could be a stable basis on which to get homebrew in to endusers hands is utterly misguided. At the current stage.

(Beware: Critical opinion)

Did you ever had an initial release which were stable and needed no fixes ?

Now its out and ppl can test it and we collect the issues and after some time there will be hbl 1.01 ;-)

thx @plutoo & other ppl who made it possible

if you think its a mess dont use it and wait maybe for version x.x of CFW 1 year after its released

I must be doing it wrong then...? Drag/Dropping a file into a freshly fat 32 formated Micro SD?
And hey - it even launches 30% of the time! Do I get the timings wrong at button presses? Is this now an endurance minigame?

Lets go trough some basics here.

1. HBL says the name of the folder it looks for .nros is called /switch - with a leading / is, that correct - or is this a rushed typo?

2. You have at least one other voice in here that states, that he/she couldnt get .nro's to show up until they did another install/run cycle - fun, also - I cant get .nro's to show up.

3. "When was a first release ever stable?" Seldomly - granted, but when was a buffer overflow (?) that has to be executed every time after each boot - ever - the basis of a stable homebrewlauncher...

Give it time... I understand, but also - this needs to be addressed somehow... Maybe in a more polite fashion. Granted.

I am agree with you, we dont know what are we doing with the system or if we can uninstall whatever it installs prior to get the exploit working (add more documentation and a uninstall button maybe? :p ) But even with that i still think it is an awesome work, just need (as every new release) more “stability”.

Any guess about 2002-2007 error after pressing "install" ? If receiving that I can retry only deleting the connection and making it up again but no way to obtain 2000-1337 (leete ;) )....
