Well that's very impressive and the devs have clearly been hard at work, but was staying at 3.0.0 really worth it? Doesn't seem like it to me. Glad I decided to update.

Depends. Since staying on 3.0.0 still has an opportunity of getting CFW at some point, as well. Slightly earlier to get CFW than 4.X, at least. And some people want homebrew because of many reasons like playing classic Doom or using emulators.

then you missing the chance to using hb.
not that I say it's wrong. as long as you fine with it

That is an opinion, which is an opinion not everyone shares. I personally agree and updated because I bought my switch for games not homebrew.
But some people would get more enjoyment from loading tons of roms and emulators.
I personally feel bad for anyone who went out of their way for a 3.0.0, or maybe even spent a good sum of money on a 1.0.0 switch, just to essentially at this point get early access to something that will come to all current firmwares.
At this point my game library is good enough where I could hold off on 4.1.0 until something comes

Switchbrew doesn't plan on adding the support (which is the ones who made this). Reswitched plans on making cfw that will run homebrew from the home menu in some way for any firmware with a trustzone exploit, so any current firmware.
It gets a bit confusing because people forget or don't know that there are two main teams working on the switch right now. Switchbrew is right now exclusively working for 3.0.0 hbl and homebrew, reswitched right now is more focusing on getting cfw running to allow homebrew on more devices and be able to play newer games when the times come (specifically being able to use homebrew and play/hack pokemon switch)

That is too bloody confusing. *sigh* I'm going to sit back and whatever happens, happens. Right now my excitement levels are at flat zero, if I'm gonna be brutally honest.

i like it! thanks switchbrew team!:)

Why are you always so pessimistic in these threads? Its pretty simple so I'll bullet point to maybe increase your excitement by 1

Switchbrew and reswitched worked together to get basic code exec
Switchbrew just got us hbl on 3.0.0, and has a version that can be run on any firmware via kernelhax (which will come into play in a later bullet point)
Reswitched got trustzone on anything up to current firmware (4.1.0), and is currently working on creating Atmosphere-nx cfw
Atmosphere will be able to make use of the kernelhax version to run homebrew on any firmware with cfw access

In simple terms, it seems switchbrew is focused more on perfecting 3.0.0 hbl right now (at least what they plan on sharing publicly) while reswitched in currently interested on getting homebrew on as many devices as possible and on future firmware. Mostly so SciresM can have homebrew and pokemon to hack.

I'm covering all my bases as a precaution. So you're saying that there will be homebrew regardless of the firmware I'm on? In that case, then I can drop the pessimism. There's too many things going on at once with the Switch, how is one supposed to know what does what without any context? Kernelhax, Trustzone, Atmosphere, etc I haven't even heard of that last name till you said it. It's hard to keep up when everything is exploding, surely, you can't be too hard on me for not knowing every single name of all the hacks for Switch.

As long as you start blocking updates right now yes. Build your eshop library now while you can and hold out on 4.1.0. 3.0.0 didn't have the library to keep me, but with the current switch library it should be much easier to hold out.

There are currently no games on eShop that interest me, I'm good, and yes, I have. But with all the names of the hacks, what team was doing what, etc, how on earth was I supposed to know what hack did what?
