How to remove password on 3ds.

IMPORTANT!!! THIS WILL NOT DISABLE THE PARENTAL CONTROLS PASSWORD, BUT ONLY THE LUMA3DS PASSWORD. SO DON'T ASK.

So.

(step 1) - Take out the SD card and put it into your computer.

(step 2) - Go into the luma folder

(step 3) - Delete config.bin

And your complete! put the SD card back into your 3ds and your finished!

So... this removes the Luma password. But what about the Parental Control password?
This is actually "useless", because nobody uses the Luma password.
But well... good tutorial, I guess.
I use it, would never want all my saves deleted by some random person but still I think it’s obvious and everyone knows how to remove the luma password haha

It's astonishingly easy to protect against this, and almost everyone will have. All you have to do is copy the config.bin with the password to the Luma folder in CTRNAND (1:/rw/luma), and then if no config is detected on the SD, it will load the config from CTRNAND.

Totally true... and actually this should be mentioned on OP's thread, because if we did this, then is impossible delete the password with this tutorial.

or you can just boot a different cfw
luma uses a password that is in tge config.bin
but other cfw dont so the skip over the config.bin because they are not programed to read it
Yes. Just switch out boot.firm and you're done. This is why they may be implementing passwords into fastboot3DS. Since it's installed to a firm partition, it's pretty hard to bypass, the only way being via NTRboot.

erm i just tried this, when i rebooted without the config.bin it just showed like a new luma3ds screen with all the boxes unchecked.

i used fbi to copy config.bin and pin.bin into ctr nand>rw>luma, deleted config.bin from sd luma and rebooted, why isn't the password screen enabled anymore?...

Try deleting the entire Luma folder. Also try booting without the SD inserted. Do you have luma boot.firm in CTRNAND?
