Someone will steal that code and release something of their own and SciresM will be pissed off. That's what's going to happen.
You know, the reason he made it open-source is that so people will use the code and modify it and release their own versions...that's one of the reasons that it's open-source. After all, Luma3DS wouldn't exist at all if ReiNAND wasn't open-source.

Hell will come from this. It'll rise from the underworld and melt switches.

This is awesome news! I wake up to make a video of homebrew news, but then get called into work on my day off so I am unable to do the video currently. If I did the video this morning, I would of not seen this and I would of been so mad :P

Anyway! Great news, keep up the good work guys!

In light of the recent bans on the 3DS, am I the only one weary of what may happen on the Switch?
I can't get arsed to care/be concerened about the chance of getting banned. Nintendo banned people for playing Sun/Moon early and didn't revert the ban even after proving that it was a legit copy so not having to pay for their onlne service if my switch gets banned works for me.

I am a legend here, everybody remembers my comprehensive 3ds cfw guide from the glorious 9.2 days. Begone peasant!
Wow you lift your self up. I dont care if youre legend. And how could you call yourself a legend if you cant answer the question of a peasant. Begone? As if youre the owner of gbatemp. Lots of noobs are here learning by help of others, but it seems some people calling their self a legend, misdirecting noobs. What a honorable act. Hail @wurstpistole. We owe him all the 3ds hacking scene. Without him, we are nothing.

Most of the time I think GBAtemp is a pretty neat place and that I would change absolutely nothing about it

Then I see posts like this and think it would be just that much better with a "dislike" button

Please no piracy. Homebrew is fine but no free games until the end of Switch's second year. (I'm worried about third party)

I'm still worried though. Switch is going to be Nintendo's only console for a lot of years. I think piracy could be a problem.
It's been proven before that piracy hasn't caused any problems. Just look at the PSP and Wii. Those were blown open pretty early on in their lifespan and had piracy very early on, yet they were still very successful. Only a minority of people actually hack their consoles.

IIRC both Wii and PSP lacked third party support.

That is correct. There are a lot of console owners who get scared as soon as you mention the word "hack". I even heard one say it might make the console explode.

Wii definitely did not lack in 3rd party support. Of course, most of it was shovelware, but it was still very well supported.
