Hacking Best way to block updates?

hey guys, I dont know if his has been answered before but what is the best way to block updates on switch apart from using public dns (its been buggy today and wont let me play online splatoon so Im searching for a better solution).
What do you guys use?

That's what it gives me for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2.

Then:
https://login.umbrella.com/?return_to=https://dashboard.umbrella.com
Goto Settings and fill your servers to block.
Nintendo Switch OR your Router:
Fill you primary and secondary DNS with:

208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220
----------------

IMPORTANT!
When you IP change, the OpenDNS dont work more.

Use for Firefox the Addon "Public IP Display"
Or:

Im on latest, cant play splatoon. Its stuck on connecting to internet when i try

It has to be something on the DNS's end. Splatoon works flawlessly now
