Sorry if this is a dumb question, but is there a timeframe for CFW on 1.0.0 at the moment?

I’ve seen a lot of conflicting information on this subject. Is 1.0.0 fully cracked? Is all that remains to create a CFW or is there more work that needs to be done to make that possible?

Is it likely that hackers will put out stuff for 1.0.0 or will they focus on higher firmwares?

1.0.0 includes all FW.
They will support as many FWs as possible.
The unpublished exploit is for that purpose.
But no one knows what will actually happen.
Remember that waiting and updating are all your own responsibility.

it hasnt even been one year and we're almost already there... I wonder why nintendo consoles are so easy to hack. Sony's PS4 still hasnt got any softmod method for playing free games, and it was released in 2014

There's way more interest in hacking the switch than hacking the ps4. There's also more people working on hacking the switch than the ps4

Would I be correct in saying that hackers in general prefer to hack Nintendo consoles over any other consoles? Maybe I'm being biased, but I feel like the Smash Bros. modding scene is evident enough. I have never seen a console game that has been supported by mods as much as Brawl has been.

I would say that they do, it also doesn't hurt that Nintendo consoles tend to have worse security than other ones

So I bought a pro controller yesterday to play binding of isaac on my 3.0.0 switch.. But now i discover the controller won't work because i need to install a day one patch.
Isn't there any way to install this damn patch? The limitations of not updating are becoming quite annoying at this point..

There's no way of installing the patch without updating

Hey, I thought of another noob question: Once a homebrew application to dump games (and potentially other installed software) is a thing, how feasible is it that it would dump the latest installed update alongside the game itself? Would that be possible at all if the application can only dump cartridge games? Reason I ask is obviously, I wanna datamine ALL the maps in Splatoon, not just the ones that came day-one.

i guess this is a really noob question, but since im on a low firmware (its either 2.0, 2.1 or 2.2), should i at least be preparing for an update?

looking at the list of required firmware, pokken (launch version as its now been fixed) seems to be my only way to get to 3.0 firmware. But other research seems to suggest that you can access the browser redirect thing on any lower firmware.

I'm not so much asking should i update (i feel the answer is a strong no), but should i try and get pokken switch out of a concern only the higher firmware revisions will be sold in future? Or is it far more likely to assume if i have a 2.2 (at most) Switch, then any future solid stable full access hack should work on that (which means more likely a way to upgrade the firmware through that without having to buy pokken)?

to put it simply, i should relax and not feel the slightest concern about being on a 2.0-2.2 firmware, right?

If you want Homebrew now get to 3.0.0, if you want custom firmware later it doesn't matter.

i'm perfectly fine with waiting, so thanks for that.

Would be so much easier if we already knew you could download firmware from the official website (like we could with PSP and stuff). But if no stressing and pretty much "forgetting" about this isn't going to cause an issue, thats fine for me :) thanks.
