I think they understand that the game has to be of quality. Nintendo's usually not one to let first-party games slip in polish. I have faith that they'll release it in a good state, but I feel they're pushing for a late 2018 release window. And once again, no, Bayonetta will sell systems just as good as Fire Emblem Warriors, which is to say, not much. Again, it's a niche franchise, and not the kind of game to single-handedly sell someone on the system. It'll definitely contribute to hardware sales, and to some people's decision to buy a Switch, but not on its own. I don't think so, at least. Would love to be proven wrong.
Going back to that second-year business, Nintendo's president himself has said that the Switch's second year will be crucial in determining the system's longevity. What we see isn't what goes on behind the scenes, especially among investors. Nintendo has more convincing to do than Microsoft or Sony as they were wholly abandoned by third parties after the Wii U flop. Every last bit of support counts for a platform, and I think Nintendo's management is smart to be maximizing their second-year momentum in order to court more developers and investors. That's why I believe they want Pokemon released this year, or as soon as possible.
