I've tried multiple different VC wads on my console and none work. They show a black screen and my controller turns off. I used ShowMiiWads to make sure they were all PAL but still nothing happens. Does anyone know what I can do?

you didn't really explained what you did and how.
By stating you used "ShowMiiWad" I suppose you are talking about NAND redirection.
But we don't know which method you are using to access it.
is that Neek, Neek2o, cIOS (usbloaders/mighty channel)?
How did you create your NAND folder copy? (usually called emuNAND)
what's your setup and program version?
which "VC" ? (neogeo require specific settings for example, N64 too, etc.)
you can't just expect everything to work with the same setup. without more information, we can't suggest you the proper fixes because you'll need different setup for different apps you want to launch.

Oh, sorry, I guess you just try to install them to your console, not using redirected NAND. You used ShowmiiWad only to check the region.
So, what I can suggest:
- don't put the game on the SD menu! (or you'll need to patch IOS80 first).
- Maybe the wad is bad.
- Are other wad working fine and only the VC not working? (again, which VC console? all of them)

If you have official wads install them to emunand, you'll quickly use up your wii internal memory otherwise. Get usbloaderGX working, that will make all this easier.

although i ended up accidentally changing my nand with no way of going back bc i didn't know you needed a gamecube controller to restore it (i have a wii minus/1.1, which doesn't have gamecube controller support)

@BakerMan, I think you're talking about the recovery mode that the SaveMii used, and also was to restore softbricked systems.

If your NAND was hardbricked, then just buy another Wii. Or go with the dirty NAND flasher method.

and if i find the sd card i have my NAND backed up on, i can not only restore the NAND if i solder the right part in, but i can also put my NAND on dolphin, then i can play dolphin online, like PMEX Remix or MKWii Riibalanced
