oh right that whole emulators being above board thing
wel with all the SDK being leaked i wonder why we do not see blackhat emulators that use official SDK code
i mean there are sites that host roms what is to stop someone from making an emulator that uses official SDK code and just making anon leaks and having it hosted on warez sites , how many past emulator have we seen like this if any i wonder
has this ever happened before in the history of emulation?
If it were that easy I'm sure N64 emulation would be much better than it is today.

I'm not aware of that ever happening, and I doubt it ever will. It's way too much effort to put into potentially going to jail

Did the N64 SDK ever leak or have devs just been running on reverse-engineering code?

The latter I believe.

Again. No... Not the same thing and that's subjective thinking.

As an owner of both wiiu and switch, I can say that off-tv play feels identical, and I am sure that I'm not the only one with the same feel. With my CFW'd wiiu (along with other CFW'd consoles I have), I almost feel pointless to homebrew-enable my switch.

Not going to needlessly spend money to have illegal access to Nintendo's backlog of titles when I can do that just fine on my PC..
Okay, that may work for you, but playing "backups" on PC ain't less illegal then do it on a homebrew'd console. Not to mention that Nintendon't is perfect while Dolphin isn't.

I'm calling it what it is, not trying to justify the action. Also, I guess if you feel justified in owning multiple consoles for God knows whatever reasons you can come up with? More power to you. Playing "off TV" is a much different experience on both consoles. Having played both, then again I tend to look for the differences. The range on the Wii U is laughable. Whereas the Switch I can take it with me.

Also, Dolphin is a much more viable option as it allows for much more than Nintendont. It also runs well enough that you hardly notice a difference.

nobody is going to go to jail for an emulator , even geohot was only sued civilly not criminally
it would never ever happen
all ISO sites are still in operation
an emulator using some arbitrary copyrighted code is much more low key than hosting actual roms and ISO's
i don't see why it is such a big deal it really is surprising that it has not happened before

Nintendo would try.

i doubt, they are actually the least vicious of the 3 , $ony sues geohot in civil court, and nothing came of it , M$ took Mathew Crippen to criminal court and lost
Uhhhhhhh... Okay.. They only sued the company behind the R4. Sent out countless C&D letters to various fan games... But yeah, "least vicious"...

they are dicks to be sure but C&D are absolutely toothless, M$ actually brought criminal charges and bugged someone's house

https://gbatemp.net/forums/other-consoles-oldies.165/ - so isn't this a better place for this thread? It have nothing to do with the Switch.
It's everything to do with the Switch. In return for providing hardware for the Switch, Nvidia gets to release Nintendo games on the Shield for the Chinese market. They share enough hardware that the Shield and Switch might end up sharing a VC library

But the switch is weaker than the shield tv...the shield has eight cores, 4 clocked at 2.2Ghz and 4 clocked at 2.0Ghz, wherever the switch only has 4 clocked at 1.0Ghz, not to mention the underclocked tegra x1 gpu...

An gamecube virtual console could still be possible, but dont expect anything greatter than 720p on both docked and/or undocked mode, even more, i highly doubt undocked mode would be able to run gamecube games at 720p at all, considering it underclocks the gpu even more.

This is wrong, the switch is exactly the same hardware wise (extact n° of cores and GPU) as the shield X1, the only difference lies in that the frequency on switch's CPU cores and GPU are set at of stock X1's speed and that the switch has 4GB of Ram instead of 3GB. And even
