My PSP memory card got corrupted and i was affraid i had lost everything on it.
i cracked a file recovery software (easeUS data recovery wizard) and i was able to get al of my files back. some folders containing save and some folders containing other stuff. it scanned the memory stick in sectors so there were no folders recovered.

SO THE PROBLEM IS:
i do have folders with save files and from the ico files i can tell for which game it is but the saves only get recognized by a game if they have a certain weir letter and number like code as the folder name. but i dont have those folder names so is there any way i can still load my saves again? also if i accidentally download an ISO from a different region will it take the save files anyway?

thanks in advance.

you can easily get the folder names by just starting a new game with ppsspp and making a savefile. then checking the ppsspp save folder for the names.
alternatively, you could post the game names here and see if people have saves from those games and could tell you the folder names.

for a more advanced approach, the save folder name more or less always contains the game ID in the foldername.
you can get the game ID from the param.sfo file from the umd disk.
get a software called deceboot from here: http://www.romhacking.net/utilities/1225/ and use it to decrypt the EBOOT.bin
now grab your hex editor and do a search for the game ID from the EBOOT file. pretty much every game has the savefile path written somewhere in the elf.

as for your second question, the answer is no.
game ID's are region specific and safe a few exceptions, they only recognize the save files from their respective regions.

Thank you for your reply, i was already trying to create new save files on my PSP by playing the games but it just takes so much time. also for some games i have multiple saves. if i were to save the same save file in 3 different slots would that give me 3 different folders?
and is there any way i am able to see from which region my ISO's or saves are?

the game ID reveals the region of the game pretty well.

ULUS = usa
ULES = europe
ULJM / ULJS = japan

usually games add a number tailing on the folder name to differentiate multiple savefiles, for example;

utawarerumono portable:
game ID: ULJM-05457
save folders;
ULJM05457UTAWAREPSP00 (slot1)
ULJM05457UTAWAREPSP01 (slot2)
ULJM05457UTAWAREPSP02 (slot3)

systemfile save:
ULJM05457UTAWAREPSP (shared between all saves)

Zill o'll infinite plus:
game ID: ULJM-05410
save folders;
ULJM05410DATA 0 (slot1)
ULJM05410DATA 1 (slot2)
ULJM05410DATA 2 (slot3)

see a pattenr here ?
though as you can see, the format is different between the games, so each game would have to be checked one by one.

Thanks, this actually makes a lot of sense.
the only question that remains is what do you mean with systemfile save? is it like god of war where you unlock special characters to play in a new save file? so that is saves the bonuses you've unlocked? correct me if im wrong.

some games have a system file that contains stuff like collected items list in the case of utawarerumono.
not all games have this, but some do (usually the icon is different from the normal save icon)

most of the time it's either named like in utaware that it doesnt have a number (and hence is loaded by every save file)
or then it's named something like SYSTEMDATA or what nots.
