Homebrew [Beta Release] 3dsxToCia v0.1: easy command - line program to generate CIAs!

Hello everybody again!
I'm XorTroll and here I'm sharing with you a single command - line tool I made to generate CIA and CXI ROMs from 3DSX ROMs.
It just calls cxitool and makerom executables in a faster and softer way.

Since cxitool can convert these on it's own to .CIA what does this do that that program doesn't? Is yours updated to rebuild older HomeBrew .3dsx with the uplated lib to .CIA so they can work again? Or is this just a mirror of cxitool that shares it's commands?

With this program you can just drop the 3DSX on it, and it instantly creates the CIA and the CXI, while with makerom and cxitool you had to type all the commands which was quite slow. It's true that's a very simple program, but it's quite useful.

This looks very helpful for homebrew apps without going in the HBL. I'll go play around with it, what i can convert. thanks for the tool

Update: I can't generate a CIA and CXI because my computer is a 32bit system???

Right I wasn't knocking the ease of access, more or less saying you should add a disclaimer that older Homebrews aren't going to work when converted unless they are rebuilt with up to date libs from devkit. Most people are going to attempt to use them and it's not going to work. It would only work on newer homebrews and games.

It's not for .3DS files.... It's for .3DSX files AKA Homebrews/ HomeBrew Games.

I'm trying to avoid to using my 3DS to do the conversion as it's a tedious process. It would be nicer to have your PC do everything there and then just copy the .cia file to the 3DS to be installed.

it only works with 3DSX files, 3DS ROMs are quite different

Nice. I see v5 no longer required the Xorpad files, etc from your 3DS anymore.

im a fan, could be useful for people who cant navigate command prompts. Also looks like it saves a few steps.

Unless you are converting cartridge only releases, I'd recommend just using Villain3DS. It downloads directly from Nintendo's CDN, and creates a clean CIA. Only problem it has is that it doesn't handle the seed, so you'll have to visit the relevant eShop page for newer games.
