I think if there were a current Mame Core the performance would be really bad compared to the earlier Mame Cores..
I just finished updating to the Mame 2010 Core... 37gb!! :P and I can already see there is performance differences, the game Bust A Move stutters when played on Mame2010.
So you have to weigh more Roms against performance.

The Cave CV1000 now has a recompiler, which could possibly make the games from that system to run on the WiiU. That's what I'm missing mostly.

Regarding PCE CD & Sega CD. Will RetroArch be able to run the iso/cue when these are zipped? Or do they need to be extracted so you can select the .cue?

True, 2003 performs better than 2010 in my experience, on Wii U

Retroarch works fine however switching cores sometimes causes that annoying Memory Error (106-2203). It's annoying because i always need to delete the retroarch config after that to get it work again. I'm on the latest nightly.

For those I recomment you to convert your ISOs/CUEs into CHD, those are compressed and uses one file per game :)

PC Engine core has broken CHD support at the moment. Games load properly, but all of the CD audio is corrupted - emulator either outputs no music or destroys your eardrums with horrible noise. An issue regarding this has been open on GitHub for a month now.

On the other hand, CHD support for Sega CD is a godsend. Much more effective than the ZIP archives.

Please, can someone tell me the correct romset for this cores:
mame 2003
fbalpha_libretro
fbalpha2012_cps1_libretro
fbalpha2012_cps2_libretro
fbalpha2012_cps3_libretro.elf
fbalpha2012_neogeo_libretro
mame2000_libretro
mame2003_midway_libretro
mame2009_libretro

Thanks.

@gblues has gone through some extensive testing and he believes he has fixed most of the remaining Memory Errors now. So please try to download the latest nightly and test again, it should be far more stable.

Unfortunately, because the HID code is not stable yet, he has had to disable that. So no DualShock3/4 support for a while now until that part is rewritten so that it is no longer a stability hazard.

Please, can someone tell me the correct romset for this cores:
mame 2003 = 0.78 romset
fbalpha_libretro = v0.2.97.42 romset
fbalpha2012_cps1_libretro = v0.2.97.30 romset
fbalpha2012_cps2_libretro = v0.2.97.30 romset
fbalpha2012_cps3_libretro.elf = v0.2.97.30 romset
fbalpha2012_neogeo_libretro = v0.2.97.30 romset
mame2000_libretro = 0.37b5 romset
mame2003_midway_libretro 0.78 romset
mame2009_libretro = 0.135U4 romset
mame2010_libretro = 0.139 romset

Thanks.
