A ntrboot R4i Gold is much more reliable overall and the price isn't that much different...

I personally own 2x (clone) r4i-sdhc unlimited upgradable and 1x ace3dsplus.my friend has one of these and i have tried on my old 3ds and it is the easiest method I know.

It's the exact same method for both flashcarts, but R4i can be used for many more things even after you get CFW (eg: works better than Ace3DS+ for stuff like TWLoader).

I use TWLoader alone with my games on an sd card. I prefer it, to be completely honest. Supports Mario Kart DS rom hacks better.
