Hello,
Appreciate the guide, it was straightforward and useful. Thank you as well for your work on compiling all the codes.
However, I couldn't seem to launch the AR menu in-game despite following the guide, using a N3DS XL of firmware 11.6:
- luma 9.0 and b9s are present and in its latest version (luma version 9.0-2a840f2)
- Downloaded the boot.firm and ActionReplay.plg from Github.
- Placed the boot.firm on the root of the SD card.
- Made a new folder inside sd:\luma\plugins\ActionReplay\ and put ActionReplay.plg inside.
- Made a cheats folder on the root of the SD card, sd:\cheats\ and placed the codes in the format of [Game ID].txt
- Opened Rosalina and enabled plugin loader; the bottom screen flickered black for a moment. (immediately disabling and re-enabling the plugin loader causes the top screen to flash green but nothing else of import happened.)
- When the game (Nintendogs taken as example), after the 3DS splash screen it flashed green.
- Game is launched, but pressing Select (the default key) does not launch the AR menu.
Things that I have noticed:
- What is interesting is that checking the luma updater actually shows that the boot.firm in the Github repository is actually version 8.1.1-75a5a1d. Trying to update it to a stable version (as of 19 January 2018, it is version 9.0-2a840f2) removes its ability to have the 'Enable plugin loader' menu. I am not sure if this is of any significance because the requirements state that we need to have the latest versions of luma and b9s to be able to launch it properly..
- Exiting the game through the home menu and re-launching other apps will cause the device to get stuck on the splash screen (I think I've read that it's a side effect and you need to shut down after every gameplay)
- Exiting the game through the home menu, then opening Rosalina and disabling the plugin loader causes the system to crash + dump screen (the one that can be solved by holding select on boot and turning off arm11 exception handler)
Apologies if I missed any steps before making this post that caused me to fail in launching the AR menu, and thank you in advance for any suggestions given.
