Hombrew != piracy
Most of the developer don't even care about pirating games piracy is not the point that keeps the developers looking for new stuff

But BTW my ps4 can run some pirated games if I want to

You are correct. The exploit developers could really care less about piracy from what I see, but the application developers? I would say that the majority of applications that are for the 3DS are to help ease piracy or they are some sort of configuration app.

make something original? the game doesn't have to be a FPS, 60 FPS, or HD to be a good game.
Games take a lot of work, especially when you have to create them from the ground up with a low-level programming language, so I don't think many people are interested in tackling that as a solo project. 3DS also doesn't have the horsepower to be a portable media center type thing. Awful sound card, bare minimum CPU and GPU designed for playing games and not much else. The Switch would be much better suited for that sort of purpose. That's all I was trying to say.

The specs are pretty bad, that I can get behind. But look at the DS scene! That had some excellent stuff, and most of it was wayyy better than what we got on 3DS. Some ports on 3ds were great, like Super Hexagon. But in reality, I don't think the Switch will be much different.

Maybe switchhax will allow us to copy Dragonheart over to SD and tweak Dennis Quaid's voice to sound like a proper british knight so that we can finally watch that movie the way it was meant to be watched.

Low level language? Dennis Quaid can barely speak like a knight in Dragonheart but that didn't stop him from making an epic movie with dragons and unforgettable music! He had the horsepower to do it.

Yeah the DS was pretty good, but I think that was because smartphones and tablets weren't mainstream/invented yet.

uhhhh. do you know what you were talking about? if that was sarcasm a /s could have been appreciated.

If you don't, a low-level language in the programming sense means that you have to build a lot of the program from scratch, creating all of the methods and function calls.

I'd still say that a few of the DS homebrew games are better than what we have on mobile.

and in the future we dont have to buy games that we already haved on the wiiu...
like botw or donkey kong

$10 worth it is only small dlc ..
no. funky mode is already impacting other games... don't you see?

But in all seriousness, the purpose of ports is to bring the games to the attention of those who didn't get the chance to play them on Wii U. You aren't obligated to buy them again, but they do bring in money for companies that are currently occupied on something else.

For example, Rare is releasing DKCR:TF on the Switch, yet they are working on something different right now.

So with a kernel hack what can we do other than cfw? What is the diffrence between userland and kernel access? Would emunand also be possible with kernel access?
