Have you had any issues with the latest nightlies for Wii U?

I resynced my wiiu pro controller, and both (official) wiimotes. This time, I synced my controllers in this order.

1: wiiu pro
2: wiimote plain
3: wiimote with motion plus built inside

I loaded retroarch, and my previously created user 3 bindings were working with the plain wiimote. But when I went to set user 4 bindings with my wiimotion plus controller, it didn't work.

Sooo, I'm guessing a retroarch issue??

It could well be a Retroarch issue, I think they have been messing with the HID code recently so perhaps that has something to do with it?
If I could find my Wii motion Plus remote I'd test it out but I cant find it anywhere :P
You can try to increase the number of max users to 16 in the input settings to see if that helps any ? (I have mine set to that)

I have it set to 16, still can't edit the 4th user bind. I know its not my wiimotes, cause I was able to edit user 3 binds with both of them. I hope someone figures it out, driving me crazy, lol!

And what I just noticed with user 3 binds in mame2003, the insert coin button seems to not work. All other buttons work, like start, abxy, up down left right. Very strange. I'll check back here tomorrow, gotta hit the sack. Zzzzz.

Hi all, to get the latest system patches (on retroarch git repository) just need to update the cores or do you need to update retroarch.rpx? and if I use forward channel?

This could be related but I'm not too sure about it:
https://github.com/libretro/RetroArch/commit/5894d0ef867d171df083830d2abc3da68ee5a607

I don't know how this might affect things, but it seems they did this in order to test crashes when switching cores, mostly seen while using playlists I assume.
It's worth trying this last build out for those of us that screw around with playlists quite often, @ploggy @cucholix @the_randomizer

Just tested the latest nightly (clean install) and got a System Memory Error after loading a FBA rom from Playlist :( not the best of starts :P

:EDIT.. Except for the initial boot System Memory Error, I haven't had one since maybe because I didn't have a Retroarch.cfg?

I have noticed too that a few FBA roms (Vertical Shooters) appear upside down? Using the Rotaion option in the Video settings can fix it but shouldn't it be right side up from the start? :P

I don't know, I haven't tested RA in some time, the HID code needs a rewrite as it was one cause of system errors.

someone else is getting graphical corruption with nestopia and stella (atari 2600)?

those issues aside, latest nightly has been pretty damn solid, haven't had a single 160, or DSI or black screen :)

I was going to post the same thing! lol Latest nightly is a godsend! I must've played about 12 different games from different cores last night with absolutely no crash problems whatsoever!

Hey man. Its the .RPX one from yesterday. 2018-09-01 Enjoy!

A tutorial for shaders would indeed be nice.

Also, I noticed Snes9x now has an option to toggle Audio quality from Lowest to Highest which fixes most sound distortion issues on MSU-1 hacks.

  • Copy the shaders directory to sd:/retroarch (whatever directory actually but for order sake "retroarch")
  • Settings > Directories set Shaders path to sd:/retroarch/shaders
  • Load whatever core you want
  • Quick Menu > Shaders (eye icon) > Select Preset Shader > whatever_shader_you_like.slang > Apply Shader

There's three. Wich one? o.o
