I wouldn't say I am being pessimistic. This will cause progress but it comes at a, potentially, large price if what I think will happen, happens. Worst part, if this can be ipatched, we won't even know until someone buys a new Switch and suddenly can't do anything.

Bootloader bugs just aren't something you really want revealed <1 year in and even less so when the reason is because someone just wants to make a quick buck.

Ideally it will take a while with a lot of anti-piracy layers in what the devs make, but of course the rush is always towards warez/piracy garbage.
I agree, the worst of it will hinder quite a bit.

If you're going to mock lack of exclusives, then XB1 is the obvious target. Switch had more exclusives than any other console last year, as just about everything from PS4 made its way to PC.
the joke was about the new 3ds only having 2 exclusives though

the boot looks like 1.0/ there is only 2 things in the news feed. correct me if i am wrong though.

Yes my 1.0 that never connected to wifi shows the same thing.

I just hope for emunand so i can update to the latest and have basically a way to revert to whatever firmware kinda like RX tools was for the 3ds

For the wii u it came as a suprise, just at once out the corner a french guy released backup method.
Maby will get same suprise on the switch.

Dont cout on failoverflow

...

That explains why its called the "Brazilian USB loading method"

Too bad the average memory around here is too garbage to recall things that happened >1 year ago.
Last year? Pssht. I don't even remember what the fuck happened yesterday...

So now we have 4 teams working on the switch
-plutoo
-fof
-reswitched
-xe
Yeah, but f0f never releases anything more than a tease of their abilities, so I'd just count 3 unless they ACTUALLY release something.

The possibility that this exploit could get leaked is very high, I think they won't release ANYTHING until they complete the hack yet

I think a lot of people in this thread are forgetting that like any team of developers, fail0verflow owes us nothing. We're not entitled to a release of any of their, or any other team's work. Everything we have at this point have been gifts.

While a PoC is surely not as fun as a public release, it still shows what can be done on the system.
