Ok, I've seen this topic on the internet before, speed regarding sd cards on the 3ds.

I want to upgrade to a 64g micro sd card because my current one is almost full. (32g)
This are the stats of my current one:
https://www.jbhifi.com.au/drones-ro...eme-microsdhc-32gb-90mb-s-memory-card/728566/

I know you have to format 64 and 128g sd cards.

I wanted to buy the cheaper one of the two but will that cause my 3ds home menu to significantly lag.

$59

$45

Thanks in advance

no matter what at 64gb it will start to lag slightly (Mainly Loading times) it will get worse the higher storage you use

Sorry, what does this mean
despite card speeds you will see no difference as they both have min/max speeds higher than the 3ds can handle. the 3ds's sd reader cant read/write as fast as either of those sd cards can so its the console's reader not the sd card will dictate speed/performance

and correct as far as a 3ds goes it does not matter

sidenote if you wanted to fully utilize a uhs 3 sd card's speed then whip out your (/buy a) 4k camera

It will just take a little longer to boot to home menu, in-game performance, theres no difference so as long as youre home menu is loaded.

I have 256gb micro sd and it loads the same as 64 and 128gb does.

So technically, any sd cards that is larger than 32gb makes home menu boot slower.

Thanks, just double checking that it doesn't matter the read/write speeds of the sd card
